Next week will finally see Yakuza 7 launching on western shores, dropping the numerical suffix, signalling that Like a Dragon marks a new start (of sorts) for the series, which will hopefully see more players discovering what has historically been a somewhat niche title.

Should you start with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, you'll be stepping into the shoes of new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, walking the streets of Yokohama's fictionalised Ijincho where another tale of crime, conspiracy, double-dealing, and political intrigue awaits.

Also, there are men in pants who need help feeling pain, deviants peeing in the river, people you can help by feeding them intensely hot kimchi, a mad go-karting mini-game, and more of the usual silliness you'd associate with Yakuza. Like Kamurocho, Ijincho is a bustling, lively playground to get lost in.

But should you give Yakuza: Like a Dragon a try if you've yet to dabble with the series? And what's in it for die-hard fans, who've grown accustomed to real-time combat rather than the new RPG-style turn-based system in this one? Check out our Yakuza: Like a Dragon video review below to see for yourself.
