Free-to-play battle royale title Call of Duty: Warzone is due to receive a "cool and fun" Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War season this December, alongside the new game's inaugural post-launch multiplayer season. Activision president Rob Kostich revealed what's in store via the company's latest earnings call.

"All the awesome new Black Ops Cold War weapons and operators you unlock and your level 1 to 255 progression will be usable in Black Ops and in Warzone," said Kostich during the call (via GameSpot) "Just like that worked in Modern Warfare, Black Ops battle pass content and store content will also work across Black Ops and Warzone."

More specifics on exactly how Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will integrate with Call of Duty: Warzone are due to be revealed "in the next week or two", beyond what Kostich has confirmed thus far.

"Now, players of course can continue to use their Modern Warfare content in Warzone once Black Ops launches...", Kostich added. "We expect Season 1 for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone to launch this December. And that's when you're going to be able to start to see the impact of Black Ops and Warzone really starting to work together in cool and fun ways."

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 13th November.

  • I’m still curious to how this is going to work since the games are using different engines. Feel like a gun in Cold War would feel vastly different in Warzone
