How Much Better Does Halo Reach Perform on Xbox One X?

Playing Halo Reach, you already knew how it was all going to end, but that made it no less effective as a narrative. Released nine years ago (bloody hell, I feel old), Halo Reach told the story of Team Noble, embarking upon a dangerous mission to save mankind.

Master Chief didn't have a starring role in the game, but that hasn't stopped Microsoft adding Halo Reach to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and thank goodness they did, because on Xbox One, the 2010 title (and Bungie's very last Halo game) looks fantastic.

Since 3rd December, Halo Reach has been part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, but if you've had yet to give it a go, you can check out our comparison video below to see how the Xbox 360 version stacks up against the Xbox One X Enhanced iteration of Halo Reach, with all of its spiffy technical bells and whistles.

  • Master Chief is actually in the game, hence the new achievement referencing being able to be in the collection and making sense.
  • @1 - Aye, I did see that achievement. I meant he's not playable in the campaign.
  • I still, despite all this time, have massive input lag or slow loading times when being a co op partner sometimes on Reach. I did halo 2 legendary with a friend and I would die before the game loaded on some checkpoints.
  • At least Reach looks and runs great. There are definitely some issues that still need addressed some glaring, some not so much. Fix it 343.
  • I agree that there are some audio problems, static and stutters in various places. PC gamers have noted these immediately, but they're on the consoles too.
  • There are some big issues with achievement delay. Game looks like the 360 one lol overhyped port that actually has more issues than the ported game. I really liked Reach on the 360 but now that I have played this through I really don’t see why I did. Sorry if I sound really bitter and salty but I expected a lot more for 2 years of ‘work’
  • Most of the two years were probably spent making the PC Verizon. The fact that it’s not cross play is easily the biggest disappointment of the year for me it’s absolutely unforgivable I wanted to play this with my Old Xbox friends who jumped ship to PC. It’s nice to get the achievements again and it’s a great list referencing loads of Easter eggs I had totally forgotten about but the fact that other titles this year had it like gears 5 and this didn’t is a huge misstep.
