Star Wars Battlefront 2 is undoubtedly one of the most-anticipated upcoming releases this coming holiday period. Not just because it’s bloody Star Wars – and that’s reason enough alone – but because it seems DICE have taken a lot of the criticism on board with how the first game was received.

We caught up with Niklas Fegraeus, Design Director on Star Wars Battlefront 2 recently to talk all things Star Wars Battlefront 2. Fegraeus discusses the team’s decision to make all the content drops for the title free and how it fractured the player base in the 2015 title.

The Design Director also talks about how they changed the customisation and progression systems, the new class system and why they decided to change the hero system too, opting for a system that now revolves around “Battlepoints.”

We also got chance to talk about those Star Wars fantasies you’ll be able to live out too! Whether it’s Rey versus Darth Maul or Yoda versus Kylo Ren, thanks to all three eras being in SWBF2 you’ll be able to live them out now as if they actually happened. Oh, and we even ask whether we’ll see everyone’s favourite buffoon, Jar Jar Binks, in the title. See what Fegraeus has to say below.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is out worldwide on November 17th. Check out our multiplayer gameplay from E3 right here

  • gee, keeps gettin """better"""
  • When will they reveal the offline co-op content?
  • Whoever thumbs down #2 should be ashamed.
  • @3 agreed. Not sure what the problem with that comment was.
  • ... and microtransactions.
  • If it doesn't have at least the features that were introduced from the original Star Wars Battlefront 2, then that will be very disappointing.
  • Prepare for disappointment.
  • is it weird if I say that I would just like 1 good star wars balltefront type game , on 1 console, which can be expanded with downloaded maps, rather than a whole brand new game. so that over a course of 10 years you can just keep coming back to the same game... does that ,make sense, these days
  • @9, it makes sense, but not dollars.
  • I loved the first game. . . yes it lacked some things. . . but it looked great and was fun to play. Can't wait to play II on my X in November!
  • Beta looked fun but i didn't have time to get it and play myself
  • The game is an absolute blast. Don't listen to the whiny snowflakes raging on Reddit or creating change.org petitions. Snowflakes consider themselves to be unique individuals that need to be coddled and have everything unlocked and handed to them on a silver platter. They would make horrible stormtroopers. Non-snowflakes will play and enjoy the hell out of this game, unlocking stuff as you go, and actually EARNING some cool stuff. So in summary, ignore the millennial snowflakes and you will love it if you liked the previous Battlefront.
  • Ea is a great company with horrible leadership going in the wrong direction.
  • Agreed... they could make these games really really good. But it seems they are getting lazy.and are looking for sales based on the title.
  • Game isnt bad now, glad they are expanding the character base
