Titanfall 2 will launch this winter, says McFarlane Toys. The news was announced in a press release related to the launch of a new action figure.

The press release didn’t offer up many more details than that, merely stating that both the toys and the game will arrive in winter 2016, and adding that “the hotly anticipated Titanfall 2 will deliver the frantic action fans have come to love, plus dramatically charged cinematic moments through all-new memorable characters.”

The new focus on story goes hand-in-hand with the recent announcement that developer Respawn will be including a single-player campaign in Titanfall 2. The original Titanfall was essentially multiplayer only.

"The upcoming Titanfall figures will be a part of McFarlane's bold new 2016 Collector Box Program. Each figure will stand seven inches tall, have an average of fifteen points of articulation for incredible poses and play action and feature screen accurate accessories and weapons. The figures will boast the same meticulous level of detail that McFarlane has become known for over the last two decades."

"The McFarlane Toys action figures will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2!"

Since this story broke, EA has released a typically cagey statement, saying that "MacFarlane Toys will be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter of 2016. We have yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn."

You might not have, EA. But it looks like McFarlane toys has. Titanfall 2, which hasn't yet been officially announced, is currently slated by the publisher to arrive some time before March 31st, 2017.

  • Welp, cats out of the bag. If it doesn't come then, no biggie, plenty of games this year. If it does, then I'll happily welcome it.
  • Very interested in a campaign for this. I found the first one was a lot of fun but needed some story added. Looking forward to hearing more.
  • I was greatly disappointed with the first games lack of campaign so this will be so good to have now. Just hoping co op is gonna be a feature for it also
  • Don't think this will get the campaign it deserves but would like to be wrong but to me didn't really need a campaign I was happy with this game as it was an still play it now an again cause when multiplayer is as good as it was on this you don't even think about a 12 hour campaign you might play once or twice
  • @4 If the campaign is anywhere near as good as Modern Warfare or as fresh and original as titanfalls multiplayer then we should have nothing to worry about. Heres hoping.
  • Campaign Could Be trash for all I care. Just don't you dare screw up the multiplayer... and please add more titans to choose from. Hopefully 6 or 7.
  • @ A little more of everything for the MP would be nice really.... few more titans for sure, plus few more weapons/abilities for them. Few more pilot weapons and anti-titan weapons too, maybe a few crazy types of grenades as well.
  • It's so disappointing that the first game didn't have a campaign that most people would play one time through for 5 hours and never touch it again. I sure hope that for the sequel the developer spends a majority of its resources on that portion of the game and not focus on one of the smoothest multiplayers in the market.
  • More titans say 10v10 at one time More titan customisation More AI grunts to give a good immersion Possible one or two AI titans entering the battle
  • Lol, like you weren't all slagging titanfall off a while back. Don't think for a second you're being original, the whole "slag off a game and then rave about it when the next comes out" crap has been around since ff8...
  • Loved this game compelled me to max it out. so much fun and really finely tuned. Has all of the CoD games now copying it with wall running and double jumping etc.
  • Hotly anticipated? Cool your jets pal, the first game was shit. I expect a better showing with the second one but in the end it is what it is, a mech game. A shitty shitty mech game.
  • Will pass on this and Destiny 2
  • All these cry more's about the first game not having a campaign and half of them probably buy the same sports games year after year. £40 for a few names changed here and there. The game play is SOLID and fun and the online has NO lag. If the game simply isn't you're cup of tea, yeah fine. Go play something that is. Anyway I didn't get Titanfall on release but I sure as hell got more than enough moneys worth from the dozen's of hours I played. Only grievance I have is the lack of stats transfer when I shifted to Xbox One.
  • I would be getting this whether it had a campaign or not. I'm not going to tell other people what they should want from a game, but I definitely got more than enough value out of the fun I had with the multiplayer to justify my day 1 purchase of the first game. In for the sequel and probably the figures, too.
  • The first time I called A titan in during a game I knew I would love that game One of the only games I have prestiged/regeneration all the way to gen 10 Most cod games I get bored around prestige 4/5 Day one purchase for me whenever it comes
  • 16- Me, too. I'm at Gen. 8 level 50 right now. The Stryder execution challenge annoyed me and I've gotten into other stuff at the moment, but I'll definitely get to Gen. 10 level 50 before the sequel comes out.
  • I enjoyed Titanfall quite a bit, put a lot of hours into it and it's probably the only multiplayer game where I reached max level, prestiging like 10 times to Gen 10. I'm holding out hope for Titanfall 2 as long as they keep it the same, but with an actual story to it.
  • @8 Titanfall not having a single player campaign is the sole reason I didnt buy it. By comparison I own EVERY Call of Duty game released thus far and have never touched the multiplayer.
  • @19. Fair enough but I guarantee that a vast majority of COD players buy the game for the MP and play the SP because it's there. Some games are MP centric and are better for it while others need to stick with just SP. Titanfall is a MP game at heart.
  • @19 Call of Duty is completely wasted on you! 98% of what those games are are competitive ONLINE shooters. The fact that you never even attempt to try them is a travesty!! Getting them for their paper thin plots is a joke (with the exception of the Modern Warfares).
