Introduction:
Welcome to my Your Shape: Fitness Evolved roadmap. This is a collection of fitness inspired classes, activities and mini games. The majority of the achievements can be obtained easily enough by just playing whatever activities you like. Nothing is terribly hard and you can make the game as casual or strenuous as your body can take. The time it will take you to complete the game will vary GREATLY depending on how you choose to play. I'll go into more detail in Step 4 below. My suggested breakdown is as follows:

Step 1 - Tutorial/Fitness Test:
When you first start the game you will be forced into a short tutorial and the game will ask you some basic questions. Answer them however you like with the exception of your weight. The answer to this will determine how quickly you will unlock the achievements. You can either go with your actual weight and progress through the game at your own pace or put in the maximum weight of 396 pounds to burn calories (and achievements) as fast as possible. Once you get to the main menu of the game choose "Personal Training" and just answer the questions and play through the basic moves for "First Contact".

Step 2 - Official Website:
With the Fitness test out of the way, take a minute to go to your computer and login to the official website. Login with your Uplay credentials to link to your gamertag then create a challenge (or accept a friends challenge). This will allow you to unlock "Track your progress online" and "Ready Steady Go!" DURING step 3 below. Check the achievement guide for specifics on each of these achievements if you are having trouble.

Please note that if "Events" are ever enabled on the website, you will be able to join one and get "Be part of the community". Unfortunately, this option has not been supported since the games original release which makes this achievement unobtainable at the present time.

Step 3 - Gym Games:
There are 4 gym games and each one has a score based achievement. They can all be completed on easy and you can keep replaying them as often as you need to. Just look under the four "High Score in... (event)" sections of the achievement guide for tips if you need help. Please note that upon completing the first couple of mini games, your gamertag profile will sync with your Uplay account and you should unlock the achievements mentioned in step 2 above.

Step 4 - Fitness Classes and Calorie Burning:
Now go ahead and go back to the main menu and select Fitness Classes. You need to play through the first parts of both the Zen and Boxing sections to unlock the "entire class" and the 2 respective achievements.

At this point the only thing left to do is burn calories. This is where you need ask yourself a question and make a decision: (a) "Am I here to excercise and achievements are a motivation?" or (b) "Am I here to get achievements?".

If you fall into category "A", then you probably put in your actual weight at the beginning. Just continue to play the game using the personal trainer, fitness classes and gym games that you like. All the calorie related achievements will unlock over time. An average person will be able to burn at BEST around 100 calories per 12 minute workout.

If you fall into category "B", then you put your weight in at 396 pounds when we started. Read "Calorie Score 10,000" for tips on getting over 400 calories burned per 12 minute workout effectively quadrupling the speed in which you will gain the remaining acheivements. This will get you the maximum obtainable gamerscore within 15 total hours or less.

You can also start the game as category "A" and then switch to "B" to speed things up if you like. Or just do a combination of both - it's up to you.

Conclusion:
The game is really pretty good and is a useful tool to get in shape. You can tackle the classes and games in any order and then only play the ones you like to burn the needed calories. The choice is yours as everything counts toward your total calories burned. Have fun!

  • Burn 9000 calories.

    See "Calorie Score 10,000".

  • Burn 10,000 calories.

All of the "Calorie Score" achievements are cumulative and count across any type of game mode or session that you play. There is a Calorie meter on the main menu of the game that will tell you how many you've burned to date and how much more you need for the next milestone. The average person will burn at best +/- 100 calories per 12 minute workout so if you just play the game, you are looking at over 20 hours of workout time before getting to 10,000. This does not include load screens and menu selections.

To get there faster, set your weight to 396 which is the maximum allowed in the game. Start up the "Fitness Classes" and select Cardio Boxing. Then choose the 12 minute gold or silver workout (you will have to unlock the entire class by playing the individual segments first) and pull over a chair at the beginning. You can use either a rocking chair or swivel chair. Simply sit there and start rocking or spinning and watch the calorie count soar. Adjust the position of your chair to maximize the calorie burn. Now you will be burning 400+ calories per 12 minute workout so your total workout time is greatly reduced to 5 hours. This method is extremely boring though, so I'd recommend doing it in chunks of 3 sessions per day. You'll be getting 1000+ calories per day and be done in 9 days.

Also, go ahead and do everything else in the game first before "simming" your way to 10,000. It will make the road that much shorter if you had already burned 1000 calories before starting the big push to 10k.

  • Get a score of 800 in Virtual Smash

Virtual Smash has you punching or kicking blocks as fast as you can to amass points as quickly as possilble and is found in the Gym Games menu. Set the difficulty to easy and start the mini game. You need to make sure you punch across your body or the hit will NOT register. On easy you will only use punches and the pattern is the same each round:

Left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, middle. Repeat.

As soon as you see the left square turn green punch it and start the above combo. Don't bother punching high or low, just punch between the upper and lower boxes and you will register the hit regardless of where the box actually is. Then it is a matter of just counting to 8 with the ninth punch being in the middle. You will easily reach over 1000 points if you just keep punching left to right.

  • Get a score of 500 in Light Race

Light Race is another Gym game and this one is a pseudo Dance Dance Revolution style mini game. Keeping your combo is key to getting the high score and you do that by not making any mis-steps. Play on Easy and you will only have to deal with left side, right side, left front and right front steps. The pattern does not repeat everytime so go as quick as you can without making an error. The faster you go will determine how fast the next floor panel lights up so you do want to move quickly too.

You want to stand back as far as you can for this event and make sure the Kinect has a good view of your feet. The left and right side steps are not too bad but for the front steps you will want to be sure to reach far enough forward to tap the target.

  • Get a score of 300 in Loop-a-Hoop

This Gym game has you spinning a hula hoop like the name implies. This is rather simple and should be played in Easy mode. To start, just pull the hoops down with your hands and swirl your hips in a circle. As you get going faster, you will create a bigger vortex and score points quicker.

  • Get a score of 500 in Stack 'Em Up

This is the hardest Gym game of the bunch. You need to hold a platform steady while blocks of different shapes fall from the sky. As the blocks start piling up, they will start changing color with the red variety being worth the most points. Once you have a nice stack of blocks you dump them to the left or right depending on what side is open. The secret to obtaining the high score for this event is greed. You want to hold out and not dump anything until you have some red blocks on your platform. It is possible to break the score with just 3 good stacks and some quality red blocks. Also there are no "fire" blocks to worry about if you play on Easy.

The other option is to complete Easy mode to unlock Medium mode. Once in medium mode, hold the platform as low as possible so the blocks drop down faster. Some blocks come down on fire and you must raise your leg (left if block falls on left and vice versa) to put the fire out. Get as many blocks stacked as possble, they change color the higher they go. Try and get them to red and then dump them into the traps on the side (when they are open of course).

  • Complete Fitness Test & Quiz.

From the main menu select "Personal Training" and the game will ask you some basic questions. Answer them however you like and run through the tutorials on the play space and some of the basic moves. Once the results screen pops up, choose continue, answer some more questions and the achievement will unlock.

  • Unlock 1st full Cardio Boxing class.

Cardio Boxing is found under Fitness Classes on the main menu. When you first go into the Cardio Boxing section, the only class unlocked is Cardio Boxing Bronze Part 1. Do this course and once you have completed it, Cardio Boxing Bronze Part 2 should unlock. Do Part 2 and once you are done with that, Cardio Boxing Bronze Entire Class should unlock, followed shortly after by this achievement.

  • Unlock 1st full Zen Class.

Zen Class is found under Fitness Classes on the main menu. When you first go into the Zen Class section, the only class unlocked is Zen Energy Stream Part 1. Do this course and once you have completed it, Zen Energy Stream Part 2 should unlock. Completing Part 2 unlocks Part 3. Do Part 3 and once you are done with that, Zen Energy Stream Entire Class should unlock, followed shortly after by this achievement.
