Introduction:
Welcome to Way of the Dogg, a rhythm based game where all you have to do is mash the right button at the right time. While the dev has some success in the past (Boom Boom Rocket, Guitar Hero to name a couple), this one has been very negatively received due to the high number of bugs and glitches that can ruin the experience. On top of that an achievement was unobtainable due to a game bug that has since been patched. This game is not for everyone, having a good background in rhythm games is a must, and sometimes it's not even enough for some people. So if you're looking for a good challenge and you're a forgiving type of person who won't mind getting frustrated by a lot of bugs then here's some tips that might help you getting through these achievements.

Bugs:
First of all, the timing to get perfect notes is inconsistent. Calibrating the game properly is really important, so take your time to calibrate your game in the options menu on the main screen and don't hesitate to do it several times. Sometimes the subtitles will freeze and won't disappear until you back up to the dashboard to make them go away. There are also reports of notes completely disappearing in the middle of a song.

NOTE: When you play a challenge, if the last song you played in story mode was on hard the song in the challenge will play on hard even if it's supposed to be on easy. Load up a chapter in Story Mode and put it on easy, back up to the menu and the challenge will be on easy.

Step 1: Story mode:
There are 18 chapters in story mode. If you feel confident in yourself I suggest you start on hard. The game works as follows; If you hit enough notes in a segment of a song a combination of buttons will appear in the middle of the screen after that segment. If you successfully input the combination then you will injure your opponent, draining his health bar and enlarging yours in the process. On the other side, if you fail to input enough notes in a segment or if you fail to input the ''finishing blows'' properly then the enemy's gonna hit you. The game is over if all your health bar is drained.

There are 5 story-related achievements that can't be missed: "From the cold hearted streets," "Kick, punch, all in the mind', "Back to the old school," "Finish him!" and "The Way." If you complete the game on hard you will receive "The Hard Way." Note that the difficulty achievements stack so you can unlock "The Way" and "The Hard Way" at the same time.

There is also an achievement called "For the Gs" where you must score more than a million points in a single song. It's nearly unmissable since a lot of songs will net you a lot more than a million. You can easily get it on chapter 1 on normal or hard.

Finally, for the "...to get the job done" achievement you must complete a chapter with a 100% hit ratio, which is easiest  when done in chapter 1 on easy. The notes do not have to be a Perfect Hit, so just take your time and hit the buttons properly and you should get this after a few tries.

Step 2: S grades on story mode:
If you managed to complete story mode on hard you will have no problems getting S grades for all chapters to net the "That's wassup" and "Doggfather" achievements. You will keep any S rank you did when you completed Story mode so just go to Single Battle Chapter and complete any chapters where you still need an S rank, it can be done on easy or normal. Note that there is a lesser amount of notes on easy so if you're having trouble getting an S on easy try switching to normal, it might be a lot easier to achieve.

Step 3: Challenge mode:
If you want to complete this game, you'll have to earn it. Challenge mode is approximately 10 times harder than anything you experienced in Story Mode, which is why most people are stuck at 350G. There are 2 Challenge mode related achievements. The first one is easy, just achieve a C grade on any challenge to get the "Puff puff passed!" achievement. For the other one, you have to achieve an S rank in all 10 challenges for "Nothin' to it but to do it." See the achievement guide for more detailed information.

  • All Temple chapters completed

    Story-related and cannot be missed.

  • S Grade in any Story or Single Battle Chapter

    See "Doggfather."

  • S Grade in all Story or Single Battle Chapters

Can be done on any difficulty, achieve better ranking by doing a long chain combo and hitting perfect notes. Go to Single Battle Chapter to see your ranking for every stage.

  • Score 1,000,000 points on a Story or Single Battle chapter.

You will earn this while doing the game on Hard although it can easily be obtained in chapter 1 on medium or hard.

  • Achieve a 100% hit rate on a single Chapter

Easiest to do on chapter 1 on easy. You have to hit every button but don't worry about getting Perfect Hits, as they don't count for this achievement.

  • Get a C Grade in any Challenge.

See "Nothin' to it but to do it."

  • Get an S Grade in all Challenges.

You must achieve an S rank in all 10 challenges in Challenge mode. Easily the hardest achievement in the game, the challenges are as follow:

#1, 2 and 3: These are combo-related challenges, you have to achieve a 55 hit combo in the 1st, 75 in the 2nd, and 85 in the 3rd to get an S rank. The first 2 challenges probably won't be too bad but #3 can be quite the challenge. The only tip I can give you is practice, practice and practice.

#4, 5 and 6: These challenges require a certain amount of Perfect hit notes (50, 90 and 75 respectively). This game is inconsistent with registering "Perfect Hits". Calibrate your game in the options menu of the main screen then try the challenge again and if you still don't feel it's on point then calibrate again until it becomes 'easier' to get Perfect hits.

#7, 8: In both of these challenges, you have to get 20 Perfect notes in a row. This is the devil. By far the most frustrating challenges in the game. Again, perfect calibration is essential, as well as high concentration. DON'T LOOK AT THE METER at the bottom left of the screen and distract yourself. You may find it easier to do this by turning off both music and sound and concentrating solely on the timing.

#9, 10: These are a lot easier. You only have to achieve an 85% hit rate for #9 and 95% for #10. No more perfects needed. At the game release #10 was glitched and the max % you could get was 88, making the achievement impossible to gain. But the game has been patched and is now possible to do.

Important note: Challenge difficulty can't actually be set apart from story mode difficulty. When you load up the challenges, they will automatically be the same difficulty you last played story mode on. To make sure the challenges are set on your desired difficulty, load up a chapter in story mode and set the difficulty. Then, back-up to the main menu and start the challenge again, it will now be set on that default difficulty.
