Introduction
This is a rather easy game and most of the achievements can be unlocked in a couple of games. You will to have to beat rookie challenge mode twice in the American league and in the National league.

1st playthrough
You make a guy however you would like. Then, do spring training and some challenges to get your experience up. When you do your second playthrough, remember to play on a team that is in the other spring training place, so you get both achievements. You go through a full season of baseball playing games and doing scenarios. At the end you go in to the playoffs. You win the game by wining the World Series. By then, you should have a lot of experience and be able to max out your player's statistics and get that achievement.

2nd playthrough
If you played on the American league play on the National league this time or vice versa. Remember to play on a spring training team you didn't play on the last playthrough.

HOMERUN PINBALL
This game requires you to play in the street with a bunch of cars and buildings. When you hit the ball, you get points for whatever objects you hit with the ball. The hardest one of the achievements of these are to get 1,000,000 points. You have to keep at it - every 100,000 points you get an extra ball and you get a power hit.

Achievements still left
You probably got most of the achievements during your two playthroughs on rookie mode. They require you to get so many runs and so many home runs along with getting so many steals, doubles, triples. You also have to get so many strike outs. The hardest achievements to get is to get a perfect game which is very hard because the computer seems to always hit at least a couple hits a game, but I recommend you use the American league all-stars vs the Royals. That will likely be the easiest way to get it.

Conclusion
This is my road map to 1000G in the games The Bigs. I hope I helped you out in some way.

There are 42 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Hit a home run in any single player game mode.

    See "Fan Appreciation Day".

  • Hit 3 home runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "Fan Appreciation Day".

  • Hit 5 home runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "Fan Appreciation Day".

  • Hit 10 home runs in one game in any single player game mode.

This can be done easily in Exhibition mode, where you can have a 9-inning game for maximum time to complete.

It is easiest to get home runs with 3-5 stars in power... if the batter is a righty, hold up and to the right on the left stick, while using  to swing (the opposite for a lefty).

If you're getting robbed by wall climbs quite a bit, wear the pitcher down by hitting some normal balls (with ) and his pitches will become weaker, then you shouldn't be robbed anymore.

  • Get a strikeout in any single player game mode.

    See "Strikeout x15".

  • Get 3 strikeouts in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "Strikeout x15".

  • Get 5 strikeouts in one game any single player game mode.

    See "Strikeout x15".

  • Get 10 strikeouts in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "Strikeout x15".

  • Get 15 strikeouts in one game in any single player game mode.

Once again, easiest in Exhibition mode with nine innings. When pitching, try to release your pitch as the meter is full, this will give a "perfect" pitch, which the batter will either stare at or swing and miss 90% of the time. If you're having trouble getting perfect pitches, just make sure to change the pitch you're throwing and move the location around the box to keep the computer guessing.

Tip: If the batter hits on you, let them get on base (don't throw them out), then you'll still have the same number of chances to get strikeouts. If you get outs in the field, your pitcher has less chances.

  • Steal a base in any single player game mode.

    See "Career Criminal".

  • Steal 3 bases in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "Career Criminal".

  • Steal 5 bases in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "Career Criminal".

  • Steal 10 bases in one game in any single player game mode.

This one is a bit tricky. Again, 9-inning for maximum opportunities. Make sure to only use contact swings at bat () to get on base, and never run past first base. While on first, hold  and hit  to steal, then hold down  to use your turbo on the runner. As you near second base, hit A to slide in safely. If the other team has turbo, they will most likely use it to throw you out, so avoid attempting to steal with anyone less than four or five stars in speed. You can do the same on second, but it is much harder to steal third, so I would suggest just getting another player on first and stealing second over and over.

NOTE: If you double steal (send players on first and second, trying to steal second and third) and one of them gets thrown out, you DO NOT get credit for anything, even though one person was safe.

  • Get a runner to second base in one hit in any single player game mode.

    See "5 Doubles".

  • Get 3 Doubles in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "5 Doubles".

  • Get 5 Doubles in one game in any single player game mode.

The best way to get doubles is to hold up and to the right on the left stick, then use a contact swing () to hit the ball. Once the ball is in the air, hold up and to the left on the  to make the runner go past first and head to second, then just to be safe, hit  again to slide into second.

Again, 9-inning Exhibition for more opportunities.

  • Triple

    10

Get a runner to third base in one hit in any single player game mode.

    See "5 Triples".

  • Get 3 Triples in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "5 Triples".

  • Get 5 Triples in one game in any single player game mode.

You'd think this would be the same principle for doubles, but most of the time you'll get thrown out trying normal hits. What you want to do is hold up and to the right on the  while batting, but use  for a power swing. Most of the time, the other team will try to wall climb and rob you, but many times they will fail and the ball will bounce back into the field. This will give you plenty of time to run for third while they get up and chase the ball down. To be safe, slide into third with .

  • Throw 3 perfect pitches in a row in any single player game mode.

    See "He's on fire!".

  • Throw 5 perfect pitches in a row in any single player game mode.

    See "He's on fire!"

  • Throw 10 perfect pitches in a row in any single player game mode.

    See "He's on fire!".

  • Throw 15 perfect pitches in a row in any single player game mode.

Ok, by far the hardest achievement in the game is getting all the way to 15 perfect pitches in a row. Getting 3 and 5 should be no problem, and 10 is annoying, but 15 will make you scream. Here are the two best ways of doing this:

Option #1: Start an Exhibition game with your controller on the right side. This way, you get to pitch first. Don't bother aiming the pitch at all, just use the normal fastball and time it right to get the perfect. After a while, you'll get the timing down, it is just a matter of staying calm to do it 15 times. Now, I found it very nice when the other team would hit one of my perfect pitches, because then I could let them get on base and get more of them in one inning, staying "in the zone" longer. Otherwise, you will get 9 perfects (3 per out) and will have to go through your batting before you can pitch again. So don't throw anyone out if they get a hit, it doesn't hurt you. The biggest drawback to this method is that you'll be well aware of how many you have in a row, and when you get close to 15 you'll get nervous and screwup. Enter...

Option #2: Just working on the "Textbook Perfection" achievement, you'll be trying to make sure they don't get hits off you, so you'll be pitching well anyway, but you won't much be paying attention to how many in a row you have. Just focus on getting the batters out and you might randomly have it unlock on you. This option is how I got it, and I was very excited when it finally popped.

  • Score 3 runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "20 Runs".

  • 5 Runs

    10

Score 5 runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "20 Runs".

  • 7 Runs

    15

Score 7 runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "20 Runs".

  • Score 10 runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "20 Runs".

  • Score 15 runs in one game in any single player game mode.

    See "20 Runs".

  • Score 20 runs in one game in any single player game mode.

This one really isn't difficult. You'll probably get it the same game you get "Fan Appreciation Day" if not before then. Just start off games hitting single and doubles with contact swings (), then once the pitcher is weaker, start using power swings () and you'll be hitting home run after home run.

  • Runner collides with the catcher receiving a throw at home plate in any single player game mode.

This one does not even have to be you personally controlling the runner. I was controlling the batter and making him go for a triple, when the person who was on first base when I hit collided with the catcher.

However, if you are controlling the person who runs into the catcher, a meter will come up and you will have to hit  as fast as you can to win the battle and knock the ball out of his glove.

You don't have to win the collision mini-game to get the achievement though, it unlocks regardless.

  • Get a Grand Slam in any single player game mode.

Alright, for this one you will have to have a person on each base. The easiest way to do this, is hold up and to the right on the left stick while batting and use a contact swing (), then take control of the runner furthest along, and make them stop at the next base.

So, first batter, make them stop at first. Second batter, hit  to control the first batter and make him stop at second. Third batter, hit Y to control the second batter and make him stop at third base. Now you should have the bases loaded and just need to hit a home run. Use the usual method of holding up and to the right on the left stick and using a power swing () or even easier than that, if you have your Big Play meter full, you can unleah a Power Blast for a guaranteed home run.

  • In Rookie Challenge, get 5 stars in all of your rookie's attributes.

Just play through the Rookie Challenge mode with any team and level up each section of your rookie all the way. You will get most of your points from the training exercises in your hometown, then at a "Media Event" in New York, which is Homerun Pinball. See the achievement "1,000,000 Points" for tips on that. All your points for that mini-game will be available for upgrading, so make sure you get about 600,000+ to be safe.

  • Complete Rookie Challenge with any National League team.

Just pick any national league team and complete entire mode. It is quite long and tedious. You don't have to do well or anything, just finish every event.

Here is a list of teams in the National League:

  • Complete Rookie Challenge with any American League team.

Just pick any national league team and complete entire mode. It is quite long and tedious. You don't have to do well or anything, just finish every event.

Here is a list of teams in the American League:

  • In a 9 inning single player game, prevent the other team from getting an official hit.

    See "Textbook Perfection".

  • In a 9 inning single player game, prevent the other team from getting on base at all.

Basically, spam perfect pitches and alternate between pitches and between spots in the box. Just make sure the other team can't even hit off you. If they do get a hit, make sure you throw the runner out or you will have to start over. Use one of the All-Star teams against a crappy tam like the Royals for best results. If you're done the "He's on Fire!" achievement already, this one should be a cakewalk.

  • Get 100,000 points in Home Run Pinball.

    See "1,000,000 Points".

  • Get 250,000 points in Home Run Pinball.

    See "1,000,000 Points".

  • Get 500,000 points in Home Run Pinball.

    See "1,000,000 Points".

  • Get 1,000,000 points in Home Run Pinball.

Alright then, the second most annoying achievement in the game. Homerun Pinball is actually easier than it appears, but you need to be patient and know all the places to hit. I will list them below. Make sure you never swing and miss, as this will take away one ball (or life, however you want to look at it) and running out will be the end. Also try hard to avoid hitting the pitcher, as he will do a "revenge pitch" and that is very hard to hit.

    • UP/Left+= Globe, 3 hits.
    • UP/Right+= Sign, 5 hits.
    • Down/Left+= Sign, 5 hits.
    • Down/Left and Down/Right= Cabs, 6 htis.
    • Right+= Signs, 5 hits.

Doing any one of those combinations will produce the chance for a special effect. This can be as good as a 4x multiplier or as lame as just an extra ball. Once you do one of the combinations, hold Up and hit  to make sure you activate it by smashing the sign. Now, the general rule is to use as many of these as possible. By the time you are done activating the last one in the rotation, the first one will be back for you to smash again. So you can't always do the same one, but you can come back to it later. Just like in normal games, filling the Big Play meter, then unleashing your Power Blast is key. Doing so, you can hold Up to hit the big globe and Up/Right to hit the green thing. If you have a multiplier, this is especially helpful. I would suggest saving your Power Blast until you have about 750k and then get one of the combos listed above and hope for a multiplier. If you get one, hit it and use the Power Blast, then hit both special spots. This will get you over the magic 100k mark.
