Introduction:
The Adventures of Shuggy is a 2D platformer containing 116 different levels with a slight learning curve toward particular puzzles where you collect green gems. This game is pretty easy to get the full 200 in and you can even get it done in a day if you push yourself. As you complete each level more will become available to you as the object remains to collect all the green gems. As you progress, new mechanics will be explored as you attempt new levels such as time travelling, swinging on ropes, rotating levels, turning into zombies, shrinking, growing, flying, teleporting and more. The game takes place in an old Scottish mansion recently inherited by young Shuggy, a cartoon vampire. To clear the mansion of evil spirits you must venture through the five different areas of the mansion: The Dungeon, The Boiler Room, The Gallery, The Graveyard and The Clocktower. Between sections you will receive comic book cut scenes and the occassional boss encounter per area.

IMPORTANT: Before attempting this game, make sure you have a friend or neighbor that can complete the 36 co-op games with you for the "Teamwork" achievement. This achievement cannot be done in online multiplayer. Local only.

1st Step: Single Player-
The obvious thing you will do first is start up a Single Player game and complete all 116 stages of Adventures of Shuggy. You can unlock 11 of the 12 achievements in this mode clearing levels and perfcting each of the four areas. If you puzzle abilities are good enough you may even get the 3 etcetera achievements. Below are the achievements you will get through regular play:

  • "Master of Time"
  • "Shmu Herder"
  • "Dungeon Perfectionist"
  • "Boiler Room Perfectionist"
  • "Graveyeard Perfectionist"
  • "Gallery Perfectionist"
  • "Clocktower Perfectionist"
  • "Castle Reclaimed"

2nd Step: Local Co-op-
This step can actually be done first to assure your 100% completion. Find a friend, relative, or neighbor that lives with or near you to do this. The Co-Op stages are just like Single player except they require 2 players to solve. There are 36 levels in all. Your partner does not need to be that skilled as some players have been able to get this done with their mothers and or girlfriends. You get the following for finishing Co-op:

  • "Teamwork"

3rd Step: Etcetra Achievements-
There are 3 miscellaneous achievements that you may miss if you zoom through the levels too fast. And they each pertain to the following stages: In One Way, Spike Dodging, and Extending Platform. These levels require you to complete them a certain way but just follow the videos and you'll get them with time.

  • "Ninja"
  • "Face the Fear"
  • "Abridged"

Conclusion:
Adventures of Shuggy is cute and fun puzzle platformer game that has very starightforward achievements. Just make sure you have a loyal co-op buddy that lives near you and you should have few issues unlocking them all. Some of the levels may take some time to figure out what you need to do so just follow the video guides if you ever get stuck.

There are 12 achievements with a total of 200 points

  • Defeated the guardian of the clocktower.

After clearing enough levels in the Clocktower area you will then be able to play the "Chucks Away" level on the right side of the Clocktower Area. It will be the bigger door with a "B" on it. The guardian can be found there which is simply a boss fight.

    Robot Chickens Boss
The boss is actually two Robotic chicken who you must defeat by moving around the arrow hands on the clock so that the falling bombs bounce off of them and explode onto each chicken.
Use your rope and wrap them around both cogs to turn the arrow hands until the bombs bounce into the chickens. After you get enough hits they will drop green jems. Collect them to complete the stage. There will be a comic book cut-scene afterward and then you will have beaten the entire game.

  • Completed all of the dungeon levels.

There are 21 stages total in the Dungeon area. It is the first place you start out in and will have some of the easiest puzzles in the game. A main tip here are the stages where you press  to rotate. Remember that whichever way you're facing is the direction you will turn.

    Tips for all Levels

    • Pay attention to the name of the stage as it can give you idea as to what you need to do to clear it. Example will be "Shove off" stage at the graveyard that requires you to push the gems off a ledge by controlling a box.
    • Each stage gives you a small note before you start that will give you a hint as to what you need to do.
    • For Time Travel stages, backtrack your steps so that you know where your ghosts will be and find places to avoid getting hit by them.
    • Levels that use ropes sometimes require you to cut them with spikes. You will need to do this for a Co-op stage too.

  • Completed all of the boiler room levels.

The Boiler room area is the first area you will unlock after you obtain enough keys. There are 22 stages there in all. It can be found at the door in the lower left area of the Dungeon room. This area has some pretty tough stages. Namely the time traveling levels where you must dodge your clones. Backtrack your steps and avoid them at all costs as you hit switches.

    Furnace Boss
After completing enough stages a door on the very left with a "B" on it called "The Furnace" will open. You must press on the green buttons to vent steam and drop the boiler's pressure. Watch out for the flames and flame phantom that spawns. Since this is a time travel stage you will have to watch out for your ghosts, so avoid them and keep hitting different switches until the green gems are dropped. Pick them up to clear the level.

  • Ninja

    10

Completed "In One Way..." in less than 16 seconds.

This unlocks when you complete the "In One Way" stage in under 16 seconds. This stage can be found in the Dungeon Area. Just collect the 2 green gems to the right by jumping with  and complete the rest as quickly as possible, avoiding the enemies along the way. Below is a video of it being done along with the other 2 etcetera achievements.

  • Completed "Spike Dodging" without using the teleporter.

The stage for this achievement can be found in the Graveyard area. This one is fairly tricky as you need to avoid pressing  which uses your teleporter. Make your way up and dodge the rolling enemies and collect all the gems. The video below shows you how.

  • Completed "Extending Platform" without using the rope.

You have to complete the "Extending Platform" stage in the Gallery area without ever using a rope. Make your way to the left and jump off of the gray platform enough to collect the gems in the upper left corner. You have to time it and move just right in order to reach them gems. Rest of the stage is easy without the rope and doesn't require it at all. You can collect them rest of through normal means. See the video below for more info.

  • Completed a level containing Shmu.

This one you will unlock in regular play. This first chance you may get is is by completing the level called "The Shmu" which you unlock fairly early into the Dungeon. There are tons of stages in which you will have to use Shmu to break safes that contain green gems. Shmu are small pebble-like creatures that stick and roll around every surface they touch. You must lead them to their cages with green gems inside of them.

To move a smhu around simply walk up to it to move it up and down. Running toward and jumping may also cause them to bounce left or right. They stick to surfaces so just allow them to roll to their destination if you have to.

  • Completed a time travel level.

This will be your 1st achievement that you unlock naturally after playing a few stages for the first time.

Any stage that has a ticking clock at the upper-right side on the screen is a time travel stage. As time passes, ghost versions that follow the exact steps you previosly took will spawn and if they touch you then you will die. These levels usually require backtracking and avoidance to hit all switches and collect all green gems in a timely manner.

  • Completed all the CoOp levels.

This is the only achievement that may prevent you from even starting this game but luckily, it's pretty easy so long as you have a buddy nearby.*This cannot be done in Online Multiplayer*. You MUST have a nearby personal friend or relative that can do this with you on a 2nd controller. To start go to Multiplayer then Local Game the select Co-Op. There are 36 stages altogether and there are a few stages you may need some notes on if you get stuck. The stage called "Swing Around" located in the Gallery area you must break your rope with the spikes in order to complete it.

You shouldn't need anybody skilled in video games to help you just good enough to take direction. Ask a friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, or relative if they can man the 2nd controller and give it a go with patience. You can try to do these by yourself with both controllers but several levels will require another physical partner. To ensure your 200 in this game, try to unlock this achievement first before attempting the Single player stuff. Below are some notable stages to look out for that may stump you:

    Notable Stages
The "Swinging Around" stage at the Gallery. Requires you are your partner to both get ropes to open all pathways to collect gems. Watch out for the insects. One of you will have to cut your rope on the spikes in order to complete this to set the other partner up.

The "And then Back" stage at the Graveyard will require only one of the players to use their teleporter to get all the gems, with the other following behind. The other player must set up a teleport at the start of the stage and never use it again until the other player hits the switch at the top left area with the 3 pink spiked enemies. Hit the switch and open the door so that the player can teleport back and collect the 3 gems where they started.

  • Completed all of the gallery levels.

The Gallery is the third place you will unlock as you collect keys from clearing levels. There are 24 levels here in all. Once it is open go there to complete its stages. This will unlock once you clear them all in the Gallery. The Gallery hosts some interesting levels that involve shrinking and super sizing Shuggy in order to collect green gems. Some notables:

One level called "The Rope Balance" you must grab the rope from the purple rope box with  then wrap the rope around the small box in front of you counter clockwise. Get on top of the box then jump and press Down + . With balance, you'll avoid the spikes and get to the top.

    Black Ghost Boss
The "Gallery Ghoul" stage opens once you obtain enough keys. It will be the door to the very right-middle area. There you must defeat a black ghost by hitting a combination of certain switches. Switch between Shuggies by pressing  and avoid the portraits from hitting any of your Shuggy clones. Keep pressing and holding different buttons until you zap it with a laser. Continue until it drops green gems for you to collect and finish the stage. Below is a video run of the Gallery if you get stuck.

  • Completed all of the graveyard levels.

Once you complete enough levels and acquire enough keys the Graveyard will be available. There are 23 levels in all at the Graveyard. This area has some of the most fun and entertaining stages in the game where you can fly, float, and glide to pick up gems. It can be found in the upper-left door in the Dungeon Area. There are zombies in this area as well so beware.

    Zombie Boss Fight
After a while you will unlock the "Scarezombie" level where you must defeat a hopping shovel zombie. This is a very easy boss. Just pick up the 3 green crosses scattered around with  and place them so that he comes in contact with one of them. Once he does he will drop gems, collect them to clear the level.

  • Completed all of the clocktower levels.

The Clocktower is one of the later areas you unlock after clearing enough levels and obtaining enough keys. It can be found at the upper right corner door inside the Dungeon Area. Once you complete all 24 Clocktower stages this achievement will unlock. The Clocktower has any stages where you must use a rope and wrap it around cogs in order to create pathways. Simply walk up to the purple boxes and hit  to get the rope. There will be some cases will you must cut the rope by making the rope touch some spikes too just like some Co-Op stages.

There is a video guide below of each level if you get stuck.
