Introduction:
Spare Parts is a simple platformer, with you playing a robot who, whilst abandoned on a planet, discover a broken space ship (voiced by Simon Pegg). He informs you that to repair the ship and escape the the planet, you need to find parts scattered through the planet. As you progress, you will gain new abilities and upgrade the ones you already have. The game is pretty short and hassle free, but you will need a second controller to get a few of the collectables.

Step 1 - Playthrough the Story:
By simply progressing through the story, you will unlock eight of the 12 achievements worth a total of 160. Follow this collectable guide and collect what you can as you play through, meaning you will only have a few to mop up once you gain more abilities.

Step 2 - "Ship's Engineer" Achievement:
Using the aforementioned guide, mop up any remaining ship parts you may need (there is no need to find any of the robots, unless you want to use them as skins for your character.

Step 3 - The Grind:
All you should have left now is to uprgrade all of your abilities and buy the concept art. You will need to grind to one million coins for "Blingbot," so you will have plenty of coins to buy everything way before you get there. See the achievement guide for "Blingbot" for the best spot to grind for coins.

Conclusion:
On an overall note, the game is pretty easy to 200; most of the achievements are story related or really easy. The only ones that will require effort are "Ship's Engineer" and "Blingbot." Find all 100 ship parts and gather one million credits respectively.

You will need to power punch legs to move them, roll eggs, push slabs in and use grav boots to climb walls and jump onto the queens head a number of times.

  • Vista Cliffs finished

    Story related, can't be missed.

There are three stages in this level, and after completing them all you'll get your achievement. This is the third level. On the final level, you will need to destroy the laser. Story related, can't be missed.

There are four stages in this level, and after completing them all you'll get your achievement. The final boss can be tricky, and can take a while as you can only attack him when his shields are down. Use your scanners to find out how best to hurt him as it changes from time to time from power arms to jet pack fire. Once his armor is all gone, power arm punch him into the fire to defeat him.

All of the upgrades will cost you a total of 428,000 coins. You will likely finish the campaign at around 300,000 coins, so will need to grind a bit before you can afford everything. See "Blingbot" for the best place to grind coins.

  • All 100 Ship Parts collected

    (13)

Each level (including boss levels) has several ship's parts to be collected. Many are out in the open, and can be got easily during your story playthough. Some are harder to get some you will need to use Action Parts that you may have not unlocked yet, and others require co-op or mini puzzles to reveal. A great guide can be found here, thanks to XBA member xPuRe ImMoRtAlx.

  • All Action Parts found

    Story related, can't be missed.

All of these can be found throughout the general course of the game and are required to complete the separate levels.

  • Game completed!

    Story related, can't be missed.

For this you need to complete all four levels, and the epilogue which I will not share to prevent spoilers.

  • 1,000,000 credits collected

This achievement is cumulative, you can see how many coins you have by pressing  and going to achievements and scrolling down to "Blingbot."

Upon finishing the story, you will have around 300,000 coins. The best place to grind for coins is to keep playing zone 1 of Jungle Approach (level 1). A thorough playthrough of this level can get you around 60,000 coins per 6 or 7 minute run. Make sure you power arm smash the well before going into the caterpillar cave, this will spawn around 25 enemies in the cave giving you lots of extra credits.

You can either replay this level over and over again, or you can stay on it, and here is why: Every time you enter and exit the cave, the robot enemies respawn. The small group around the well, the group at the end, and the guys in the hatch where the co-op required engine part was found. When you defeat each group, you will get gold coins, so you can get an extra 5,000 every 90 seconds or so. Takes about the same time after loading screens and such.
