Introduction:
Welcome to the Schizoid Road Map. With the exception of the "Playing The Field" and "Schizoid Sensei" achievements, you can get all of the achievements in one playthrough if you're playing in Uberschizoid mode.

You can miss the following achievements whilst playing through (In chronological order):

- "Flitt Breeder"
Level 5 "My Man Flitt"

- "Sploderific"
Level 12 "Smartbomb"

- "21st Century Schizoid Man"
Level 21 "Tyger Tyger" -

- "Wired"
Level 36 "Razorwire"

- "Schiz Hunter"
Level 38 "Needle In A Haystack"

- "Huevos Done Naked"
Level 47 "Los Huevos"

- "Barber Of Schizzville"
Level 74 "Fairly Odd Couple"

- "One Mind, Two Goals"
20 Gold or Silver medals

Check the guide for specifics on unlocking these achievements.

Step1: Offline Achievements
This is a game that makes it very difficult to miss any achievements, simply play through the game on Uberschizoid mode and complete the above achievements as you reach those levels. If you miss any replay the mission until you get the achievement.

Make sure to also try all of the four modes at least once for the "Playing The Field" achievement, this can be done at anytime and cannot be missed.

The only other thing to keep in mind is that you need to get 20 Gold or Silver medals whilst playing in Uberschizoid mode, this can be any combination of levels, you most likely have this by the time you complete the mode, if not replay the earlier levels until you have 20 Gold or Silver medals.

Step 2: Online Only achievements:
At any point you can unlock the "Schizoid Sensei" achievement by playing online with an Xbox Live partner and getting a combination of 10 of any type of medal from any level.

If you need someone to help you unlock this achievement post here (LINK).

Conclusion:
Most of the achievements in this game should come to you pretty easily, if you're having trouble with any of the achievements find someone to play Co-Op with you.  This should make things easier for you. If you're having trouble with Uberschizoid mode, then try the method posted in the guide.

There are 12 achievements with a total of 200 points

  • Wired

    10

Destroy an enemy with a razorwire.

You will first encounter the razor wire Power-Up on Level 36 named "Razorwire". This achievement can be unlocked in any of the four modes (Bot Training, Local Co-op, Uberschizoid, or Co-op over Xbox Live).

As with all powers to activate have both players touch the Power-Up after one player has picked it up, then a line will be formed between the two players anything that touches this line will be destroyed (including the usually indestructible yellow enemies (Schizzes)).

The power will stop working if the players move too far apart (the line will turn red), or after approximately 20-30 seconds have passed, again the line will turn red just before breaking.

  • Play a game in each mode - Xbox LIVE, Local Co-Op, Wingman Bot Training, and Uberschizoid.

Play a game in each of the modes listed, I don't think that you are required to complete any of the modes, as the achievement unlocked immediately after starting an Xbox Live game for me:

    Training:
I'm not 100% sure on what is considered the training mode, my best guess is that it refers to the first time you play the game where you are given on screen instructions on how to play regardless of which mode you select.

    Wingman Bot:
In this mode you control the blue player and the computer controls the orange player.

    Local Co-op:
In this mode player one controls the blue player, and player 2 controls the orange player.

    Xbox Live Co-op:
As with Local Co-op player 1 (the host) controls the blue player, and player 2 controls the orange player.

    Uberschizoid:
In this mode you must control both players the blue player with the left stick, and the orange player with the right stick.

  • Destroy all enemies on level 12 ("Smartbomb") with a single smartbomb.

On Level 12 "Smartbomb" lore all enemies to one side of the enclosed area they are trapped in and then detonate the bomb, I found that they would often follow the player carrying the bomb. To detonate the bomb have both players touch it.

If you fail the first time exit out of the game and select "Mode: Single Player" and select the level again.

This achievement can be easily done in any mode.

  • Shave the Orbiddles from 8 Astramoebas on a level, without destroying Astramoebas or losing a life.

For this achievement the best Level is 74 called "Fairly Odd Couple". There are 12 Astramoebas on this level all orange, with blue Orbiddles.

To start I picked a corner to work out of. In this case it was the bottom left. I took out all three of the Astramoebas in that corner, leaving me with 9. I began to lure one at a time while eating their bullets (Orbiddles). I would continue to bring them down into my clean corner and gain some distance and gather the next one. I did this in uber mode, so i docked the idle ship in the far corner (same corner you work out of). Just continue till you get 8.

This method CANNOT be used in the wingman mode as the computer will destroy the Astramoebas, but will work in Local Co-Op, Xbox Live Co-Op, or in Uberschizoid mode.

  • Destroy 30 Schizzes on a single level, using powerups and without losing any lives.

Once the level starts head for the bomb (top right corner) to clear as many enemies as possible, try to move the bomb away from the sides so that you destroy as many enemies as possible. Then head toward the bottom left corner to pick up the razorwire try to stay as far apart from your partner as possible without the line turning yellow, you will have roughly 20-30 seconds before the razorwire runs out.

You will also need to do this level with some haste as once the blue and orange enemies turn into Schizzes themselves the level will end and you will need to restart if you don't already have the achievement, so avoid killing either of these enemies as best as possible. You do NOT need to finish this level with a gold medal, this is because the achievement will unlock as soon as you have killed 30 schizzes (yellow enemies), but you must survive until that point. This achievement may take several attempts.

This achievement can be unlocked in any mode but Wingman mode will be more difficult as the AI will destroy the orange enemy as soon as it gets a chance.

  • Get a gold medal on level 5 ("My Man Flitt") without destroying any Flitts.

This achievement require you to survive on level 5 "My Man Flitt" without destroying any of the Flitts (the large egg type enemies), and receiving a gold medal (which means you can't lose any lives.). After a short time these enemies will turn into indestructible yellow enemies (Schizzes), once all flitts have transformed you will complete the level, and unlock the achievement.

Try your best to stay in open areas so that you can avoid the enemies as best as possible, none of the enemies on this level will actually chase you as their movement is random, if you die quit and restart the level using the "Mode: Single-Level" option.

Can be unlocked in any mode, except Wingman Bot as the AI will destroy the Flitt's.

  • Complete level 21 ("Tyger Tyger") either in Local Co-Op, Xbox LIVE, or Uberschizoid.

Complete Level 21 "Tyger Tyger" in any of the modes (Local Co-op, Uberschizoid, or Co-op over Xbox Live). Your main problem on this level will be the star enemies, I've found the most effective method against these enemies is to have the opposite colour player to the star you wish to destroy approach the star, at which point the star will chase that player, the other player can then fly through the first player and destroy the star. Keep in mind that the stars will flee from the player of the same colour, so be careful not to chase a star into your partner.

  • Earn 20 silver or gold medals in Uberschizoid mode.

As the description states you must get any combination of silver or gold medals in Uberschizoid mode, this is without a doubt the most challenging mode to play. However many of the early levels are impossible to die on, so several medals will be earned easily, the rest will come with practice. If you cannot or don't want to play this mode properly you could have a friend control the other player, however this will only work for local games.

  • Earn 10 medals (any combination of gold, silver, and bronze) over Xbox LIVE.

Can be done in any of the Xbox Live modes (Private, Custom, or Quick), so boosting is possible. This shouldn't prove very difficult as you will be allowed to die up to two times before you will lose the medal, and this can be done on the beginning levels which being the easiest are your best bet for this achievement, should not take more than a few minutes.

  • Gold level 47 ("Los Huevos") without activating any powerups.

My advice for getting this achievement is to play the game in Local Co-op or Co-op over Xbox Live, as playing in the other two modes will make this achievement much more difficult. Uberschizoid because you need to control both players very carefully and quickly, and bot mode because the bot has a tendency to pick up the Power-Ups ruining the achievement.

    My Method:
    - Have the blue player head to the top right corner of the map and destroy all of the blue eggs.
    - Have the orange player move to the bottom left and destroy all the orange eggs, no eggs should have hatched at this point.
    - Now have both players fly to the top left area and destroy all the eggs there, the eggs should be hatching at this point.
    - Now you should have orange enemies flying from the top right corner, blue enemies from the bottom left corner, and both types from the bottom right corner.
    - Pick off as many enemies as possible from the top right and bottom left and then hold your ground in the top left corner as best you can against the combined colour enemies heading your way from the bottom right.

This should greatly reduce the number of enemies you have to face and the directions you need to defend from. Holding your ground at the end will be like many of the previous levels you will have already completed.

    Alternate Strategy:
Go into wingman bot training, and just follow the other ship, eating the blue eggs nearby. You should be going to the bottom left and moving around clockwise. If you are pretty quick and fairly lucky you can get into the 3rd quarter of eggs before you start getting any major resistance. By this time there won't be many enemies left, just focus on the stars and it is fairly simple.

The main problem in this mode is that your AI partner will pick up the powerups, as it moves through the level. The best way to avoid this is to never put one between yourself and the bot, as the bot will rush to your defense whenever you are threatened, along the fastest safe route possible. Any Power-Up's along this route will then be picked up, making it very difficult to defend the bot without activating the Power-Up.

  • Destroy 2500 Scorpios.

I have now received this achievement I was up to level 64 in Wingman mode, level 21 on Uberschizoid mode, around level 64 over Xbox Live, and level 47 on Co-op when the achievement unlocked.

You should have this within one playthrough of the game, and can be accuried in any mode, all kills from all modes count.

For anyone that wants to get this achievement sooner, or doesn't want to play the game to completion. You can use mission 40, which has around 65 blue Scorpios you can kill. This will take around 39 replays to reach 2,500 kills from 0.

  • Complete level 119 ("Ragnarok") in Uberschizoid mode.

For this achievement you have two options either: By yourself, or with a friend.

If you choose to play with a friend (this will have to be locally), then you can each control a ship individually using one stick each on the same controller. I would suggest that you fix your controller down if you want to use this method, as you won't be able to hold the controller normally. This will then for the most part be identical to playing Co-Op.

If you decide to play yourself than this will be a difficult achievement to get. The best advice I can give is to keep the orange ship on the right of the screen and the blue ship on the left of the screen, as crossing them will make it much harder to control the right ship at the right time.

Also try wherever possible to only use one ship at a time, by holding one ship slightly behind the other, this will mean that you won't need to control both ships all the time.

When playing levels that have no eggs you will have an unlimited amount of time (as you won't need to worry about any new enemies appearing) so take your time. If the level does have eggs you will need to act with more haste, but you can usually pick off a large amount of them before they begin to hatch.

Remember that you do NOT need to gold these levels for the achievement so dying on these levels is fine, aim to gold as many levels as possible so that you can skip them on subsequent attempts, but keep in mind that this isn't required.

For the most part you will not be able to use the same strategy's in this mode as you would in the other modes, but knowing the levels will help alot, so practicing in the other modes can be helpful.
