Introduction:
Welcome Rockstar Games Table Tennis. Yes the very same company that brought you Grand Theft Auto, has a game about table tennis. Nothing zany, crazy or otherwise out of place; its pure table tennis! The game has 29 achievements for 1000 gamerscore.

Step 1: Singleplayer
The singleplayer in this game is just tournaments against the AI. It has 4 difficulty settings; the harder it is the more matches it has and the better the AI is. First go through and beat the easy, medium and hard tournaments. This will get you used to the game's mechanics and you will unlock a few characters along the way. Most of the characters have multiple ways to unlock them; but the easiest way is to win 50 matches against the AI. Doing this will unlock all characters along the way.

Once you have all characters unlocked, you will need to unlock every outfit for each character and each character's level. The level's have multiple ways to unlock them, but the quickest way is to serve an ace with each character on medium or higher AI. The outfits can be unlocked by winning 22 matches with each character; this takes longer but is the easiest method. Once you have unlocked all characters, outfits and levels; you will get "The Collector" achievement for unlocking everything.

This game can be very annoying especially on all-star difficulty. You need to beat the the all-star difficulty tournament with all 11 characters; luckily you can use custom settings to make this slightly less painful. One recommendation is to do one all-star tournament on default settings to get "The All-Star" achievement first and then do the other 10 characters using custom settings. This game is brutal but there is a way to make it easier. You will need to do service aces to stand a chance against the all-star AI. you can see how to do service aces here: https://www.xboxachievements.com/f...ad.php?t=28227

Step 2: Multiplayer
This is one game if you hope to complete it; don't touch the multiplayer unless you are boosting for "The G.O.A.T." achievement. This achievement is based on a trueskill rating system, which if you lose more then a handful of times makes things unnecessarily complicated. You can literally make this almost impossible to get by losing a large handful of online matches. Just a quick achievement to get this started go into the table tennis network menu and then find a match to watch, you might have to ask a friend or 2 to play a match while you watch, and vice-versa for them.

The best way to make sure you don't miss out on "The G.O.A.T" achievement is to have someone who currently has G.O.A.T status give you the achievement. If he is trueskill rank 50, this can be done in 5 matches.

If you don't have someone to give it to you; you will have to build a trueskill ladder. Starting from scratch, you need about 6 extra gamertags. One will win a few matches until ranking up slows down too much. Then the one that has ranked up will rank up another tag that hasn't played yet. Continue this cycle with dummy accounts until one of your dummy tag reaches the 43-45 range. Once they have hit that area, they can rank up your gamertag into the G.O.A.T ranking. If you did this with a partner , now rank him up using your account; or if he got it first then he gives it to you. This method is much longer and much more confusing, so the best way is to have someone ready to give it to you as mentioned before.

Important thing to note, is that "The Widow Waker" achievement won't unlock by quit outs, which is the quickest way to create ladders and give "The G.O.A.T." achievement. If you like you can either take the time and do it while boosting for G.O.A.T. or boost it separately to put pure focus on G.O.A.T.

Once you have "The G.O.A.T." achievement squared away its time to do "The Hall of Famer" achievement. This requires you to win 50 tournaments. Tournaments require 4 players to start, so find 3 buddies and/or use multiple xboxes and gold accounts. Its a simple bracket setup so on one side have either tag advance, by having the loser quit out. Once the person winning and the other tag are in the finals, just have the loser quit out. This will make the remaining person the winner of the tournament.

The best part is, is that by the time you are done boosting "The G.O.A.T." and "The Hall of Famer" is that you still won't have the last online achievement (most likely) Which is for playing 10 hours online. This is really boring to to manually (unless you love ping pong), so the absolute best way to do this, is to get a a turbo controller and have a buddy with a turbo controller. What you can do if you both have one, is turbo a serve button and this have both characters hitting the ball back and forth endlessly (unless it slips)

Conclusion:
This completion can be a challenge both to boost and to beat on all-star; but if you can manage it; its a great completion to have. While the game isn't overly exciting, its still fun if for nothing else then the fact that its just pure ping pong.

  • Every level in the game has been unlocked.

If you go to “Extras” from the Main Menu, and then go to “Unlocked Items” you can view each character’s unlockables. You can unlock the levels by serving an Ace with that character on Medium difficulty or higher. Another way to unlock a character’s level is to “Focus” on the shot -- which means to win the match point (the last point to win the match) while in Focus mode.

  • Every outfit in the game has been unlocked.

There are plenty of methods used to unlock outfits. Here is a list of them:

    • Shutout the CPU in at least 1 Game in a Match
    • Won a Match using a Backhand Shot
    • Won a Match using a Forehand Shot
    • Won a Match using a Smash Shot
    • Won a Match using a Slow Shot
    • Won a Match using a Lunge Shot
    • Won a Match using a Heavy Backspin Shot
    • Won a Match using a Heavy Leftspin Shot
    • Won a Match using a Heavy Rightspin Shot
    • Won a Match using a Heavy Topspin Shot
    • Won a Match using a late swing
    • Won a Match with a Really Fast Shot
    • Won a Match with a 4 Point Deficit Comeback
    • Won a Match with a 5 Point Deficit Comeback
    • Won a Match with a 6 Point Deficit Comeback

    • Had a Rally of at least 40 Hits
    • Had a Rally of at least 100 Hits
    • Won a Match by forcing the CPU to hit the net
    • Won a Match by returning a shot from the CPU that dropped short
    • Won a Match by making the ball bounce 2+ times on the CPU’s side of the table
    • Beat a circuit in less than 20 minutes
    • Overcame a 2 game deficit to win a 5 game match
    • Won at least 22 Matches with a Character (22 gets you one outfit, 23 gets you another outfit, etc)
    • Win a match at a character’s recreational venue (Whatever level you unlock with a character, that is their “venue” -- example: Win a Match at the Factory using Juergen and you unlock an outfit.)

These methods can be used on any settings. Once one criteria is used to unlock an outfit for someone, it cannot be used again. If you run out of methods, you can still win 22 matches with that character to unlock their remaining outfits.

  • Every character in the game has been unlocked.

You will eventually get this while trying to unlock all of the characters. Remember, if you can’t beat the circuits, just win 50 matches total and you will have all characters unlocked.

  • Every unlockable item in the game has been unlocked.

Once you have all of the characters, levels, and outfits unlocked, this achievement will trigger.

  • Win 3 Ranked Exhibition Matches in a row.

    Read my “Time-conserving method” below.

  • Win 4 Ranked Exhibition Matches in a row.

    Read my “Time-conserving method” below.

  • Win 5 Ranked Exhibition Matches in a row.

    Read my “Time-conserving method” below.

  • Rack up 10+ hours of offline gameplay time.

If you’re aiming to get all of the other achievements, you’ll eventually get this one. Please note that idle time doesn’t count toward this -- It only counts when the ball is moving. Try to keep long rallies going so the timer continues to count.

  • Rack up 10+ hours of online gameplay time.

If you’re going to try and win 50 tournaments legibly, you should be able to do this achievement by the time you make it to the end. If all else fails, just get a friend online and try to get some long rallies going. Please note that idle time doesn’t count -- It only counts when the ball is moving.

  • Has won 50+ (non-consecutive) Ranked Tournaments.

This one is going to take awhile. If you don’t think you can get this one legibly, here is what you can do: Get 4 people together, including yourself, to join the same Ranked tournament (that is the hard part: I advise finding a place where all 4 of you can communicate at the same time with each other.) Then, just take turns forfeiting your matches. PLEASE NOTE: This achievement triggers when your “Stats” page reads 50 Ranked Tournament Wins -- DO NOT go by how many tournament wins it says you have on the online leaderboards. ALSO: Please note that sometimes it doesn’t give you a tournament win unless if you HOST the tournament. So to be on the safe side, I would always create a tournament instead of joining somebody else’s.

  • Achieve the highest TrueSkill rating possible in any Ranked online game mode.

Honestly, there is no easy way. Well, technically, the only easy way is if you know 2 people that are 35 or higher and want to help (the higher the better). Basically you need someone within 4-5 levels to help you rank up. Once you become 6 levels higher than someone, it's going to become a very very very time consuming task. Therefore, if you're a 20 at the moment, try to rank off of a 25. Once that 25 gets you to about a 25, then try ranking off of a 30 or higher. Once you're a 30, try ranking off of someone that's 35 or higher, and etc. This achievement WILL take a lot of time, unless of course you have two people that are 40+ helping you.

    Time-conserving method:

The following achievements can be locked in this order: (explanation below them)
"The Noob" and "The Victor" Achievements
    "3 Match Winning Streak"
    "4 Match Winning Streak"
"5 Match Winning Streak" and "The Widowmaker" achievements.

Ok, so here's how you do the above 6 achievements for the quick 280 gamerscore points:

Get a friend, get in a private chat with them, then go to Xbox Live, Ranked Match, and have one person create a custom ranked match with unusual settings (I used 1 of 1 games per match, 7 points per game, spectators off, and 5 points per serve). Ok, when you're about to create, make sure your friend has the same settings ready to search. Tell him when you create it so he can join immediately before someone else. Then in gameplay, whoever is getting all the achievements, shut out your opponent (don't quit or you won't get the "Widowmaker" achievement). After game one you'll get your "Newb" and "Victor" achievements. After game three you'll get the "3 Match Winning Streak", then 4, and then after the fifth game you'll get your "5 Match Winning Streak" and the "Widowmaker" achievements. Also, if someone does join your created ranked match before your friend does, you have the option to back out of it, so no worries there. It will take about 15 minutes or so to get these 6 achievements for 280 points.

    How To Serve an Ace:

An Ace is a served ball that the opponent can’t even touch when in attempt to return it. Here’s how you do it: When serving, move about 4-6 steps to the right, and then back a step. Hit . Then look all the way left, Hit  again, and make sure your spin meter is 100% full, and the power meter can be 75%-100% full. It should serve a very nice leftspin that the computer can’t return, giving you an Ace. Please note that with each character, the amount of steps you need to take will be different. Just explore around with it and you’ll eventually get it. Also note that some computer opponents (such as Jung Soo) you cannot serve an Ace against consistently as you can against others.
