This game is a relatively easy 720 which requires you to play through six Challenges and one long Career. The controls are awful and the game can get dull. You have been warned.

Introduction:
Welcome to Rapala Tournament Fishing. This game has a total of 30 achievements but only 25 are attainable. Don’t look for a patch from the developers either, 720 is all you’re going to get.
This game requires only one Career playthrough and three playthroughs of each of the Challenges.

Step 1. Before you start a Career, complete both the Arcade and Timed Challenges.  As you progress through the Challenges you will unlock equipment that you will need for subsequent achievements.Only the Easy difficulties are available for either Challenge. Once you complete Easy, Normal will unlock. Complete Normal to unlock Hard.

Step 2. Start a Career and start the first Tournament. Follow the specifics in the achievement guide for help.

Note: Make sure you have a pen and paper available at all times. You will need to track the series of rod and boat you are using for the "Fishing Rod Expert" and "Fishing Boat Expert" achievements. You will also need to track the type and quantity of fish caught, to ensure you get the "Catch x Fish Using x Lure" and "Bad Weather" style achievements (If the "Fishing Boat Expert" doesn’t unlock consult the achievement guide for a quick solution). When you have recorded your boat and rod, play through the Tournaments (following the achievement guide) to attain those achievements. Make sure you finish first in every event. Get the "Always Ready" and "Quick Fishing" achievements at some point, to avoid having to start another career.

Step 3: Mop up
Clean up those achievements you didn’t get during the Tournaments.  Check your achievements and go after the specific fish you need. Please note the achievement description, some fish MUST be caught during Tournaments.

There are 30 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Finish the Tournament game mode.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Tournament game mode in first place (Gold Medal).

This is going to take a while as you have to work through all the tournaments, although none are really difficult. Only accept your position if you're in first place. Keep only the biggest fish. If you're having trouble finding fish, try different locations. I had a lot of luck in weed beds and narrow channels.

A thread listing recommended lures can be found here.

  • Finish the Rapala Series event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the American Tour event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Lund Series event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Elite Tour event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Ranger Tour event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Legends Tour event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Rapala Pro Tournament event.

    See "Tournament Master".

  • Finish the Time Challenge game mode.

Easy Difficulty Achievement. Complete each of the three difficulties (Rookie, Amateur and Pro) to get this achievement. Each difficulty has 5 levels in with you must catch specific fish of a minimum size within a time limit. A thread listing recommended lures by lake, can be found here.

    For example:

Rookie Timed Challenge Level 1 of 5 Lake Erie, Ohio

Catch a Walleye of at least 10"

Catch a Rainbow Trout of at least 10"

Catch a King Salmon of at least 15"

Within 30 minutes. (Clock is real time and can be paused with the Start button)

Meet these objectives and you'll go onto the next level. If you fail a level simply restart it and try again.

  • Finish the Arcade Challenge game mode.

Medium Difficulty Achievement. Complete each of the three difficulties (Rookie, Amateur and Pro) to get this achievement. Each difficulty has 5 levels, broken down into 3 regions, in with you must beat a score within a time limit.

    For example:

Rookie Arcade Challenge - Level 1 or 5

    Ross Bartlett, Mississippi

OBJECTIVES: Beat level score of 300

    Remaining location time 10:00 minutes

Catch any fish you can, the bigger one's score higher. A thread listing recommended lures by lake, can be found here. Sometimes you can do this with 3 really nice fish, others take a lot more. Your current score and remaining time can be seen on the pause menu.

Meet these objectives and you'll go onto the next level. If you fail a level simply restart it and try again.

  • Catch 40 Bass.

    See "Salmon King".

  • Catch 40 Perch.

    See "Salmon King".

  • Catch 40 Trout.

    See "Salmon King".

Easy achievement. The fish you catch throughout the different events will accumulate toward this achievement. They can be caught from a boat, in any tournament or in free fish. Only keepers will count. A thread listing recommended lures can be found here.

  • Catch every fish in the game at least once.

    Smallmouth Bass

    White Bass

    White Perch

    Yellow Perch

    Rainbow Trout

  • Use all boats at least once in a tournament event.

Boats will unlock as you play through the Arcade and Time Trial mode (do those first). Once you have all six boats available here's an easy way to get this achievement.

Start a new tournament with the character that you used to unlock all the boats. Skip practice and make note of the boat being used. Start the tournament, pull away from the dock and then reverse back into the highlighted 'finish' zone. End the day's fishing but do not accept your placement, restart the tournament but be sure to switch to a different boat. Rinse and repeat until you have used all six boats. When using the last boat be sure to accept your placement, advancing you to the next day. Using the same settings, finish the last day quickly (by pulling away and returning to the dock), accept your placement, save and enjoy your achievement.

    The boats are:

    Ranger 621VS

    Ranger 210 Reata

    Ranger Z22 Comanche

    Lund 1775 Classic

    Lund 1800 Explorer

    Lund 2025 Pro V

  • Catch at least 15 different fish species casting only from the shores.

This achievement is glitched and is not attainable. The game does not save when you leave shore fishing so all fish caught from the shore WILL NOT count toward any achievements.

  • Finish the Tournament game mode with every character in the game at least once.

This achievement is glitched and is not attainable.

  • Catch at least 20 fish using every rod in the game.

Medium Achievement (because it's a bit glitchy). Rod's will unlock as you play through the Game. There are four different types. I initially thought you had to use EVERY rod, meaning each lentgh and type within the class to catch 20 fish. Meaning Sportsman Series UL 5' 0" (1 piece), L 5' 6" (2 piece), L 6' 0" (2 piece), etc... After going through all the combinations and copious note taking on the first two classes of rods, I decided to just use the other two classes, and I got the achievement. So I would use ONE type of rod from each class to catch 20 fish and the achievement should be yours.

    The rods are:

    Sportsman's Series

    Sportsman's Classic Series

    Tournament Class Series

    Xtreme Ultralight Series

  • Catch at least 20 fish using every reel in the game.

This achievement is glitched and is not attainable.

  • Catch at least 20 fish using every fishing line in the game.

This achievement is glitched and is not attainable.

  • Use each lure at least 10 times.

This achievement is glitched and is not attainable.

  • Catch at least 10 Lake Sturgeon using a single lure type.

Easy Achievement. Fish in Lake Champlain, New York in Free Fish Mode. I use the W9-GT lure (enjoy the' fight'). Once you find a lure that works don't change it until you get the achievement.

  • Catch at least 30 Chain Pickerel using a single lure type.

Easy Achievement. I used the RNR05-S lure on Lake Kissimmee, Florida in Free Fish Mode. Once you find a lure that works don't change it until you get the achievement.

  • Catch at least 60 King Salmon using a single lure type.

Easy Achievement. I got this achievement after catching only 39 King Salmon, I used the SR08-BB lure on Lake Erie in Free Fish Mode. Make sure you don't change lures until you get the achievement.

  • Catch your first fish within the first 2 minutes of entering a new tournament fishing day.

Easy Achievement. Make sure you're fishing in a tournament, when it starts pull away from the dock until you see fish on the radar. Stop there and start fishing. Often times you can fish right from the start fishing without moving away from the starting location.

  • Catch your first 3 fish in a new tournament fishing day in less then 6 minutes.

Easy Achievement. Make sure you're fishing in a tournament, when it starts pull away from the dock until you see fish on the radar. Stop there and start fishing. Often times you can fish right from the start without moving away from the starting location. I got this achievement after catching only 2 fish.

  • Catch at least 40 fish while in bad weather.

Easy Achievement. Catch a total of 40 fish while it's raining. No need to do anything special here, you'll get this for just playing throughout the game.

    Notes:

Actually landing fish can be the biggest challenge in the game! These tips will help and are a MUST READ if you want to retain your sanity.

When reeling in a lure watch the picture of the lure, if it starts to flash red stop reeling in. Even if you don't see a fish, there is one that has been attracked to it. When it bites, set the hook.

You can see which fish is going to bit and if you’re short on time you can reel the lure in instantly, press and cast again, avoiding a delay in fighting a fish you don’t need.

If you keep having the fish throw the hook, swing the rod from left to right during the fight, this will keep tension on the line and allow you to land the fish.

Use the drag! 1 is the lowest / loosest and 5 is the highest / tightest. If you’re line tension is getting high switch the drag setting down immediately. Set the drag too low and the fish will pull line out all day and you’ll lose it. 3 is a good general setting. If you've hooked a monster and need to let more line out, press

Avoid fishing from the shore, the game does not save when you quit so fish caught here will not accumulate.

Finish Arcade & Time Trial before the tournaments because you will unlock boats, etc.

Easy achievement mean they do not require any specific skills, I didn't say they're not time consuming.
