Unlike NTG: Inside Line, you do not need to sit there and flip the track pass a billion times or worry about trivia. The only achievement you need to continuously work on is Front Row, and you’ll be worrying about that one in the easy playthrough. Don’t forget that at any time during the race, you can rewind using the button, or just simply restart the race until you get the finish you need. The following steps can be done in ANY order chosen, so they are not numbered!

Easy Career Playthrough [Obtainable: 14 for 390]

Set the difficulty to whatever you are comfortable with and race for fun. Focus on qualifying on the pole for Front Row and knocking out the different achievements for winning races. Here, you’ll also be aiming for 2,400 points in a single season for Points Collector, so make sure to check out the guide for a detailed explanation. At the end of season one, you can use the code provided by goothgone to unlock enough credits for Egg Head. You also need to run a custom setup at any race to get Engineer.

Single Season / Highlights / Random Achievements [Obtainable: 13 for 260]

Here is a list of things that just didn’t fit into the other categories and their related number of achievements, so knock them out whenever you get around to it!

1. Win the sprint cup in single season and chase mode [2]
2. Run 10 laps in a session and take a picture of your car [2]
3. Mess around in the paint booth [2]
4. Complete the Highlight Challenges with gold time [3]
5. Race as 10 different drivers and three different manufacturers [4]

Champion Difficulty [Obtainable: 5 for 120]
You must turn the difficulty setting up to 90% at the very beginning of the first race menu and not change it for the rest of the season. The Shootout, Daytona Duels, and All-Star Race can be ignored during this playthough. Please refer to the solution below in the guide for how to break this difficulty again. Doing this method for breaking Champion difficulty will also net you "Heading to the Garage", "Running Flat", "Lucky Dog", and "The Big One" if you haven’t earned them yet.

Online Racing [Obtainable: 8 for 230]
All online racing can be done by yourself. Pick short tracks such as Bristol, Richmond, or Dover and mix it up a bit. Head over to the trading thread [HERE] to find partners to race with if you’d like. Don’t forget to create a one race fantasy league for "Legend of Leagues" and save an online replay for "Saving Memories". After that, 100 races with at least 20 wins will net you the rest. I personally did almost all of mine on Watkins Glen because it is only one lap and cuts down on race times.

There are 40 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Make it to pit road with a flat tire

I’ve found an easy solution. First, you need to make sure the race length is set to at least 5%. Now, make sure Tire Wear is set to x4 and Damage needs to be on either Brakes/Tires/Engine or Full. Cautions must be off as well.

Now pick any track and park yourself near the pit entrance with your nose against the wall. Go full throttle while against the wall for about two minutes and the rear tires will blow. Now just nurse yourself to pit road. For some reason, I had to drive around a lap on the flat tire before pit road would register, so pick a short track like Bristol or Richmond.

  • Win a race with the HUD turned off

As soon as the race starts up, pause the game and go to settings. Here, you can turn off the HUD completely and resume the race. It does not really make things harder, so you should have no trouble winning the race without it.

  • Start and finish a race without any driving assists

After entering the track, you can go to Driver Assists and turn them all off. It is easier to do so at a Superspeedway as you have less of a chance to spin out.

Note: You can still use automatic transmission; just make sure everything else is “off.”

  • Pass a total of 250 cars

This will come naturally over the course of a season. With the AI on easy, you can easily get 40 or so passes per race by starting in 43rd position. Multiple passes of the same car during a race also count.

  • Drive as 10 different drivers

For this achievement, you must drive as 10 different drivers. Your career/custom car counts as one, so you just need to pick nine more drivers in Single Player.

If you are looking to get this quickly, you can start up a race, wait until it says GO, and retire. I verified that it works!

  • Win a race after Qualifying first and leading the most laps

Very self explanatory, you must qualify on the pole, lead the most laps, and win the race all at once. Easy to do during career or single player with AI difficulty set on Easy.

  • Run a custom tuning setup in a race

After you’ve entered the track, go to setups. I personally changed the cold pressure in one of my tires by 0.5 and saved. Run the custom setup in the race, and it is all yours.

You must finish the race for it to register.

  • Be the Lucky Dog driver in a race

In order to earn the Lucky Dog, you must be the first car one lap down when a caution flag waves. If there is more than one car a lap down, you must pass them all before the caution waves.

Load up a quick race on any track, and make sure flag rules are on Cautions only. When the race starts, let the field overtake you so you become -1 lap. Now try to cause a caution flag by wrecking someone. The game must be tricked to think the caution wasn’t your fault, as in Nascar a Lucky Dog award cannot go to the person who caused the caution even if he/she is the only person a lap down. I was able to do this by getting up to speed and completely dumping another car. It registered him as the cause of the wreck and gave me the free pass and 15 gamerscore.

  • Be involved in a wreck at Talladega

Just cause a wreck at the notorious Talladega and this one is yours. Achievement pops immediately. A lot of users are having more trouble than they should with this one, so keep trying if you don’t earn it the first time.

Combine this with the “Heading to the Garage” achievement and earn two for one!

  • Qualify on Pole 20 times

During any career, season, or single player race, make sure to qualify first 20 times. With easy AI, you will soar by their lap times and qualify first without any trouble at all.

Note: All qualifying sessions have two laps to set your time. If you earn the pole on the first lap, you don’t have to run the second lap. Just press and retire, it will give you a window saying your first lap will stand.

  • DNF from a race by critically damaging your car

Start up any race and turn damage to Full. Now turn around and go backwards. Ram straight into the incoming pack and you have earned yourself a quick trip home. Works best on Daytona or Talladega.

Note: Make sure flags are turned off.

  • Win a race while driving a Chevy

    See “Toyota Fan”.

  • Win a race while driving a Ford

    See “Toyota Fan”.

  • Win a race while driving a Toyota

It appears that there is no way to check which affinity a driver is from the select screen. However, being the knowledgeable person I am, I will tell you every driver from each affinity (listed by car number)

    Chevy Drivers: 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 (both), 9 (Elliot), 10, 13, 14, 24, 27, 31, 40, 41, 42, 47, 48, 78, 88, 98.

    Toyota Drivers: 11, 15, 17, 18, 20, 38, 54, 55, 83, 87, 93.

    Ford Drivers: 2, 6, 9 (Ambrose), 12, 16 (both), 22, 34, 43, 95, 99.

Note: Your career car also counts for whichever affinity you select.

  • Sign 10 Sponsors to your car

In career mode, you will occasionally receive opportunities from sponsors. Unlike previous Nascar games, these sponsors expire and give you fixed payouts. When a sponsor expires, you can choose to renew it. Once you have ten different sponsors stamped on your car, the achievement will unlock.

Note: You have to manually stamp your sponsors on your car in the paint booth. Scroll over to decals, create a new layer, and stamp it wherever you like. I do not actually know what happens when you don't (the game says "sponsors like to be seen on your car" or something, so if you can add to my solution that'd be helpful!

Achievement unlocks once the 10th unique sponsor has been acquired.

  • Research everything in the R&D department

For this achievement, you must purchase every single upgrade in every single category. Here is a breakdown:

    First Row Research: 390,000Cr
    Second Row Research: 260,000Cr
    Second Row Development: 2,080,000Cr
    Third Row Research: 600,000Cr
    Fourth Row Research: 540,000Cr
    Fourth Row Development: 5,250,000Cr
    Total Credits Required: 9,020,000

If you are short on money, you can enter “givemewonga” under the cheat menu for a million credits, and you can use the code as many times as needed. It doesn’t disable achievements either! To find the cheat menu, go to My Nascar ----> Options ----> Enter Code. Credit goes to goothgone for sharing!

  • Invest in all areas of the Race Shop

As you may have noticed, this achievement description is a bit confusing. To earn this, you must purchase at least one thing from all three categories in the R&D department: Engine Shop, Body Shop, and Parts Shop. This will cost you 390,000Cr if you purchase one each of the first upgrades.

  • Win the Sprint Cup in Career

Put on easy AI (0-5% difficulty) and qualify for every event as needed. After the first 26 races, the chase field is determined by the top ten in the standings and two wildcard drivers. The wildcards go to the two drivers sitting anywhere in 11th-19th with the most wins throughout regular season. If you are a wildcard driver, you start with 2,000 points. If you are a top ten driver, you start with 2,000 points + 3 bonus points for every win during the first 26 races. Therefore, it is always good to win a lot to make your job even easier.

  • Win the Sprint Cup in Career on at least 90% difficulty

In this game, you are going to use a completely different method for breaking champion difficulty than last year's game. During this career, you can ignore the Shootout, Daytona Duels, and All-Star race as they are non-points races. Go ahead and start up a career and use the following as your settings:

    Difficulty: 90%
    Race Length: 20 or 30%
    Tire Wear: x4
    Fuel Mileage: x4
    Flags: Off
    Damage: Full

With these settings, you can go ahead and get started. The basis of what you are going to be doing is starting the race without bothering to qualify. Then, park your car right away as the field circles around. Your goal is to back up into the field and try to DNF as many cars as possible. As long as the field hits you in the side or rear, your car will not break but theirs will. After every hard crash, a few cars will be taken out and you will move up the field.

As you begin to get a few laps down, it may take you additional laps before it counts you as passing the DNF cars. Also, if you get a flat tire or your engine wear starts becoming critical, pit during the red flag and repair your damage. Keep those two things in mind as you progress in the race. Once you are happy with your position, go ahead and crash yourself head on into another surviving car and it will end you in your current position.

During the season, there are four tracks you want to watch out for, as wrecking the field will bore you to death. These tracks are Bristol, Martinsville, Sonoma, and Watkins Glen. I personally recommend you simulate these races during the career unless you are decent at the game and can muster a strong finish in a 2-5% long race. Use this sparingly! If you simulate too much, you could force yourself to start over from falling outside of the top 10 in points.

Another thing to look out for is glitches (who would have guessed). There are a lot of times where the game will just give you whatever finish they want, and if that happens, remember you can restart a race at any time (even when it is complete) until you get a desired finish. The second type of glitch could actually work in your favor! Occasionally, you will see a checkered flag wave right before a red flag, even if the race is no where near complete. If this happens, you are either going to restart by yourself thanks to the glitch, or with the pack. Either way, the glitch forces the race to end in 2 laps regardless. Therefore, it is best to finish up by yourself and enjoy your free win, or restart if the latter happens and you won't be pleased with your finish.

Last thing to worry about is the chase. Once you make it in, it is in your best interest to write down the drivers in the chase and paint a virtual target on them. There is a big chance you entered the chase with 0 wins (I only had 1 but it was because of the aforementioned glitch), so it is important to take out those competing against you. Personally, I made it my sole goal to continue crashing the field until all 11 other chase drivers were trashed, and then finished ahead of them. That way, no matter what, I was earning more points than them and retaining my points lead. You have to either simulate Martinsville or settle with a bad finish during the chase, please keep that in mind.

As a closing note, always make sure your finish is correct before you advance after a race. If you get critically damaged yourself (it happens often) or you aren't happy with the result, restart restart and restart. There is no penalty to doing this, and once you advance, you can't go back to a race.

Big thanks to bongohawley for initially discovering the method.

  • Finish your first Sprint Cup Season in Career

Self-explanatory, just finish up your first season. You could technically simulate the entire thing and still receive the achievement, but it would be silly not to go for the championship win to receive the other achievements.

  • In Career, win a race using only refurbished parts

Before going to a race track, you have the option to spend credits to upgrade your car. Make sure each one says “Refurbished” before entering the weekend. Qualify high in the field and race against easy AI to make this achievement easier.

  • Finish a full season with over 2,400 points

At the beginning of the final 10 races, the top ten drivers start over with 2,000 points and then get 3 points added for every win during the first 26 races. If you spend your career doing nothing but winning, you can start the season with up to 2,078 points!

For the sake of argument, if you were to start the chase with just 2,000 points (no wins), you would need an average finish of 4-9th every single race depending on how many laps you lead and how many races you win during those 10 races.

A 1st place finish nets you 43 points. You get one bonus point for leading a lap, one bonus point for leading the most laps, and three bonus points for winning the race. What you do in the first 26 races does not really matter for this achievement, but as stated, each win gives you a 3 point bonus to start off and you need 400 points total in the final 10 races.

You cannot earn this achievement in “Chase for the Cup” mode, it has to be a full season of career or single season.

  • Finish all the 2013 Highlights with at least a Bronze award

    See “Time Lord”.

  • Finish all the 2013 Highlights with at least a Silver award

    See “Time Lord”.

  • Finish all the 2013 Highlights with at least a Gold award

Thanks to the July 2014 patch, these achievements are now obtainable. I have written a detailed guide on each challenge [HERE].

  • Win a League Season

Enter multiplayer and select “Online Leagues”. Here, you can create a new league with one race and invite any of your friends (they don’t have to own the game). Now, you can choose your driver and race the single race by yourself to earn this achievement.

  • Take part in an Online Race

This achievement unlocks as soon as you start up your first online race.

  • Win your first Online Race

    See “Online Master”.

  • Win 10 Online Races

    See “Online Master”.

  • Win 20 Online Races

    See “Online Master”.

  • Participate in 50 Online Races

    See “Online Master”.

  • Participate in 100 Online Races

For all the online achievements, you can select a private race by yourself and earn them. Select some of the shortest tracks such as Bristol, Dover, and Richmond to mix it up a bit. If you would like to boost with others (trust me, this gets boring and quick) head over [HERE] for the achievement trading forum.

As of right now, Watkins Glen is the fastest way to complete a race. At 2%, it is only 1 lap long and takes about 3:15 with loading times. If you feel like mixing it up a bit, Bristol is about 4:25 with loading times and Richmond is about 4:50.

Credit to wright3034 for discovering that private races work, and that they can be earned solo!

  • Save an Online Replay

After an online race, you can choose to save the Online Replay to earn this easy achievement.

  • Make a custom brush in the Paint Booth

Head on over to the Paint Booth at the main menu first. Once there, press to tab over to Layers. Press ‘New’ and scroll down to ‘Brush’ and here you can chose any type of decal and create the custom brush from there. Save it for the achievement to register!

  • Create a custom paint scheme

Head on over to the Paint Booth at the main menu and choose a preloaded scheme or create your own. You must save the scheme for the achievement to pop!

  • Poser

    15

Take a picture using Photo Mode

At any point in the race, you can pause the game and select Photo Mode. Snap a picture of your mad driving skills and save the photo for this easy 15 points.

  • Win the Sprint Cup in Chase Mode

Under Single player, you can start up a single season and choose “Chase Mode.” This mode lets you participate in just the final ten races, and is no harder than the rest of the game if set the difficulty to easy. You can also simulate races if you’d like, but be careful about keeping your lead and do not simulate Homestead!

  • Win the Sprint Cup in Single Season Mode

If you would like to get this out of the way as quick as possible, I have discovered a method that works. How does racing just 14 out of 36 races sound? What you need to do is start up a single season under the single player tab at the main menu. Pick your career car or favorite driver, it doesn't matter. You will obviously want settings on easy and any settings you desire to use are all okay. Now, here is step by step of what you want to do:

    1. Race, and win, at Daytona, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Bristol. (Events 2-5)

    2. Scroll down and skip ahead to Kansas (Event 12). The six races in between will be simulated for you, and you will receive random results with diminishing returns. I have discovered that skipping seven races is too many, but six is the perfect number. Anyway, Go ahead and race, and win, at Kansas. There is a good chance you can leave here still leading the points like me.

    3. Scroll down and skip ahead to Daytona (Event 20) and win that race. After this simulation, you may have fallen in the points a bit. I was sitting in 5th place in the standings with six wins now.

    4. Skip another six races and win at Atlanta (Event 27). Now you will be able to see your position. I personally had fallen all the way back to 15th in points. Remember that the two wildcard spots go to the 11th-20th place drivers with the most wins. With seven wins under your belt, you should easily be able to receive the spot.

    5. Go ahead and race the regular season finale at Richmond (Event 28). If you are for some reason outside of the top 20, restart the season or see if it is possible to make it inside the top 20 during the Richmond race. Your finish doesn't matter here, as long as you make sure you don't fall outside the top 20 like I said.

    6. If everything has been done correctly up to this point, you will be sitting in 11th place, inside of the chase, after Richmond. Race the first three races in the chase and win them. (Chicago, New Hampshire, Dover, Events 29-31). Feel free to take note of who is high in the standings and wreck them if it makes you feel good about yourself. Doing so will increase your points lead drastically.

From here, you can do one of two things.

7a. Finish up the season like normal. Hey, all you had to do was race 8 regular season races and the 10 chase races, so it wasn't that bad. OR,

7b. You can still win the championship if you want to simulate some more. Personally, I dominated Events 29-31, simulated 32-33, dominated 34, simulated 35-36, and dominated the final two events/races.

WARNING: DO NOT SIMULATE HOMESTEAD! Don't be a dummy like me. I simulated the final race because I was lazy and it caused me to have to do this method all over again. Doing so caused me to return to the main menu with just the "season results" screen and no achievement even though I was in first place. The best part is I was able to confirm it works, as I have done it twice now. You must race Homestead, and watch the silly animation as your driver gets the championship. Achievement unlocks after the loading screen.

  • Win the All-Star Race

The All-Star Race is a non-points race that comes after Kansas Speedway (event 12). The race itself is a bit complicated if you’ve never seen it, but I will try to explain it.

Qualifying: This event has a unique qualifying method. You must run 3 complete laps and make a four tire pit stop. If you wish to skip this, simply avoid pitting when your crew chief tells you. If you are on easy difficulty, then you should have no trouble at all winning the race without having to qualify first.

The Race: The event itself is split into five segments. The first four are basically the same, and each winner or highest finishing driver (if a repeat winner in a segment) start the field in 1st-4th position during the final segment. You have to choose 20% length minimum, but it doesn’t take long and the final segment is very short.

Should you fail for whatever reason, you can restart the race at any time from the pause menu, or even after the race is over. You can also simulate races all the way up until this event, so it isn’t missable.

  • Run 10 laps in a single Track Testing session

You can find track testing under Single Player. Just chose any driver, any track, and run 10 consecutive laps. You can keep track of how many you’ve done in the top right corner. Achievement pops immediately after completing the 10th lap.
