This game is a really easy 1000 . The story itself, and accompanying achievements, take about 3-4 hours, if you blow right through, without doing anything else. The rest of the achievements are somewhat skill-based. Even with a guide, the collection achievements will take you the longest amount of time.

Introduction
Welcome to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. This was a very fun game to play through, albeit a short one, with the storyline clocking in at a brief 3-4 hours. Harry Potter fans will be happy with this one though. Only one play through is needed, which is nice. At the end of the game, free mode is opened up where you can roam the castle and do whatever you missed throughout the game, whether it be collecting crests or making potions.

HERE is a link to the crest locations.

Quick Walkthrough
Getting 1000 in this game can be broken down into three simple steps.

Step 1: Play through the storyline. Doing so, you will rack up at least 12 achievements, giving you 310 .
Step 2: Play through each of the club challenges. See the specific achievements for details This gains you another 15 achievements, for another 300 .
Step 3: Collect all the Hogwarts Crests, giving you the rest of the achievements.

Upon finishing the storyline, the game opens up into a free roaming mode, so you can go back and grab everything you missed while playing the game. I highly recommend leaving the crests until you can do them all at once at the end of the game, to prevent you from missing one or two and pulling your hair out trying to find them.

Conclusion
As long as you stay organized when it comes to finding those crests, and practice at each of the clubs until you get the hang out them, this game should be a straightforward 1000 . Refer to the achievement guide for help and strategies, and use the crest locations guide. You can even print it off and mark off each crest you find, if it will help. Overall, this was a great game to play through.

  • Earn the Potions Beginner's Luck Badge

The first potion you make in Potions Class should get you this achievement. Just make the Wit Sharpening potion after the tutorial and you'll get this one upon completion.
  • Earn the Speedy Brewer Badge

To get this badge and achievement, you have to make a potion in less than 35 seconds. I recommend the Wit Sharpening potion, as it's very easy to make and only requires pouring ingredients.
  • Earn the Potions Club Star Badge

You have to get top grades on 3 potions to get this badge. See "Master Potioneer" for details.
  • Earn the Potions Club Veteran Badge

You have to simply complete every challenge in Potions Club. Note that in order to make the Love Potion, you have to achieve "Crest Collector 11" to unlock the ability to make it.
  • Earn the Master Potioneer Badge

To get Master Potioneer, you have to get top grades on every potion you can make, which means 5 stars on your score, in Potions Club. The best tip I can give you is to not overpour, overheat, overstir, or overshake ingredients. Any smoke will pretty much shoot down your chances of getting 5 stars.

Also, if you can stop when the potion turns the right color, and not a moment afterward, it will help in boosting your score. For example, if you have to heat your potion from blue to red, try stopping just before it turns red and it should heat just a little more and give you a better score. If you keep heating after it turns red, you'll see the potion turn a bit sludgy and dark and you will get less points.
  • Earn the Duelling Beginner's Luck Badge

    **Story Related**
After your first Potions Class, you'll head to the Great Hall for Dueling Club. After you duel with Ron and win, you'll get this one.
  • Earn the Reflex Badge

For this, you'll have to finish a Duel without being hit. I recommend dueling one of the Junior Champions. Just be careful and dodge your opponent. Try keeping them on the ground with Expelliarmus, in the air with Levicorpus, or stunned with Petrificus Totalus, and let loose with the Stupify spell.
  • Earn the Duelling Club Champion Badge

Simply finish all four Duels in any House Dueling Club. You can get this as soon as you finish your first Duel with Ron. Just walk up to the Notice Board in the Great Hall and select it, and beat each of the four opponents.
  • Earn the Duelling Veteran Badge

For this you have to get top grades in 10 duels. The easiest method I found was to wait till after I had the Charge ability and already became House Dueling Champion of a couple of the houses, then went back and replayed duels I had fought already. I hit them with Levicorpus, then fully charged Stupify, moved as close as I could, and blasted them with it. Do that for both rounds (try not to get hit more than a couple times), and you'll get it easily.
  • Earn the Master Duellist Badge

Simply finish all four duels for each House. The locations of the Dueling Clubs are as follows:
Gryffindor - Great Hall (left side of the exit)
    Ravenclaw - Transfiguration Courtyard
    Hufflepuff - Training Ground
    Slytherin - Paved Courtyard
  • Earn the Quidditch Beginner's Luck Badge

    **Story Related**
This will be the first achievement you get. As soon as the game starts, you will follow Ginny to catch the Snitch on your broom. Just fly through the stars, try to get through the middle of them, you'll need the practice for the other Quidditch achievements. After you catch it, you'll get the achievement.
  • Earn the Precision Flyer Badge

To get the Precision Flyer Badge, you have to fly through every star in any flying event (including games and practices). You don't have to fly through the center of every single one, just touch the side at least. You'll get this while going for the "Master of Flying Badge," as it's necessary to hit every one.
  • Earn the Combo Flyer Badge

Just fly through 20 stars in a row in any flying event. You'll get this while going for the "Precision Flyer Badge."
  • Earn the Keen Flyer Badge

Just finish every Flying Club event. You have to do these from the Notice Board in the Quidditch Stadium. To get every single one, though, you have to go to "Save and Quit" from the Main Menu, select Clubs from there, go into Flying Clubs, and you will be able to replay each of the three Quidditch games you played. You do have to play them through story mode first, though.
  • Earn the Master of Flying Badge

This one might take some practice. You have to get top grades on every flying event. To do this, you'll need to fly through the center of almost every star except a few. You can hear a distinctly different sound when you fly through the center of a star and when you hit the side of it. Practice this a bit and it will come naturally after awhile.
