Fear 2 is a lot easier compared to its predecessor. To get all the single player achievements in a single playthough, you will play it on the hard difficulty level. You will need to collect all the Intel and reflex boosters as you progress though the missions and get the miscellaneous achievements as well. After single player, you will want to tackle the multiplayer achievements, but this will be more time consuming due to the Four Star General achievement.

Step 1 SinglePayer
Start your playthrough on Hard and during this playthough you will want to collect all the Intel and the Reflex Boosters. You can find a list of Intel locations HERE and a list of the Reflex Boosters HERE.

There are 49 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Headshot 10 enemies with the Sniper Rifle.

You get the sniper rifle for the first time in Mission 7: Top. Sniper is a one-shot headshot kill so just go into slow-mo/reflex, aim for the head, fire, repeat.

  • Roast 10 enemies with the Napalm Cannon.

You get the first Napalm Cannon about halfway through Mission 3. You don’t get much ammo for it though so don’t use it until you get to the next checkpoint. There are 10 enemies in the next area so you should be able to get the achievement in one go. If you have any problems just reload the checkpoint, so you are back to full ammo and move on.

  • Kill 10 enemies with Melee

To melee you have to hit  while close to your enemy. Play on Easy on the first level and do it in the section where you go up the elevator with Stokes. She will shoot the first guy, melee the next 2 in the same room. Head to the outside roof area, melee the next two, then re-load. Repeat 3 times.

  • Pin 10 enemies to the wall with the Hammerhead.

The earliest you can get this achievement is on Mission 9. Just try to get them to get near a wall then hold down the fire button and when they die their body will stick to the wall. Just do this nine more times and the achievement is yours.

  • Slice up 10 enemies with the Laser.

You can get this on Mission 11.The first laser guy is on the tracks after you turn off the power. Immediately turn the power back on when you see all of those guys so you save ammo then shoot him a couple times turn off the power and you will have 200 ammo for the gun. Later in the level there will be another laser guy. Kill him with grenades. Now you should only a need a few kills so good luck.

  • Kill 4 enemies with one Grenade.

Rats count as enemies for the sake of this achievement. The easiest place to get this achievement is in Mission 11.

  • Kill 4 enemies with one Slow-mo use.

Near the end of Interval 2, there's an easy spot to get four quick kills as soon as you come out of the cylinder.

  • Use 50 pieces of interactable cover.

For this one, you just have to "Flip/move" fifty pieces of cover. You don't have to use fifty different pieces, just fifty in total. To use cover you will have to go up to a table and it will say "Flip cover Hit ". Just do that fifty times and the achievement is yours. It is very easy to get this done in the first interval. The outdoor bar area has twelve pieces of cover. You only need to reload the section 5 times.

  • Kill 10 enemies using combat opportunities.

A combat opportunity is when you blow up something in the environment and that kills and enemy.

At the first part of Mission 3 you start behind a door that leads to a lift lobby. In this lobby, there are some guys setting up some explosive barrels. Enter the lobby and shoot the barrels, causing them to explode and kill the guy setting them up. You should be able to get three kills this way. Once you've destroyed all the barrels just let yourself die and repeat.

You can also do this in Interval 1. Just shoot the space heater up on the balcony to kill an enemy and then reload the checkpoint. Repeat it ten times and you'll unlock the achievement.

Here are some good campaign tips:

1.) Backtrack - Backtracking might be a major pain in the ass, but it can also be beneficial. That's not to say that you can always do this -- F.E.A.R. 2 has the tendency of blocking off previous areas so that you can't get back to them -- but this isn't always the case. If you found Body Armor, a Medkit, some ammunition or grenades that you simply couldn't carry, then go ahead, get damaged or use some bullets or explosives, and then try backtracking to where you left the previous items.

2.) Stay Healed - This goes without saying, but you're going to want to keep your character healthy. You can able to carry up to three Medkits at any one time, and other instant-healing items can be found all over the place, including on downed enemy soldiers. Don't hesitate to use a Medkit if you're getting hammered, because you could only be a single well-placed bullet away from death. Don't squander these healing items either, because they become increasingly rare! Body Armor, of course, goes a long way towards keeping your health intact, so try to keep a fresh suit on you at all times.

3.) Swap Weapons - You can only carry four weapons at a time and there are far more than four weapons available. As soon as you find a new weapon that you can't carry without sacrificing another, be sure to swap out weaker weapons for stronger ones. For instance, ditching your Pistol for a Napalm Cannon or your Submachine Gun for a Sniper Rifle aren't bad ideas, but if you're thinking about swapping that Combat Shotgun for your Pistol, think again!

4.) Slow-Mo - This is one of the most important tools in the game. Every time you fight a huge group of enemies this can help. Just try to use it as much as possible and you can breeze past all enemies in the campaign. All slow-mo does is slow the enemy speed and your rate of gun fire. Try to use this with 1-hit-1-kill weapons since you can kill more enemies in one slow-mo use.

5.) Use Cover - The intelligent AI uses cover and so should you. Don't underestimate the use of cover. When you start seeing your opponents using everything in the environment to their advantage, you'll understand exactly what we mean.

6.) Toggle Grenades - The Frag Grenade is your old stand-by, but it's not the only type of grenade in the game. It should be used for massive explosions. What if you want to burn a whole group of enemies standing close together? Well, I guess you'll want to use your Incendiary Grenade. How about stunning that same group of enemies? Rely on the Shock Grenade. You get the idea. Not only does this allow you to use the best type of grenade for any particular situation, but using them in relatively-even terms means that you'll be able to constantly resupply yourself when you find new grenades. If you keep using only Frag Grenades, for instance, then the dozens of other grenades you find of varying types will be useless because you'll already have five in your inventory.

7.) Don't Miss Intel - Intel is the lifeblood of the game's story. If you miss pieces of intel, you're have massive plot holes that you simply won't be able to fill. Some of these pieces of intel are far, far more interesting and relevant than others, but it's impossible to say which is which until you've collected them all, read through them, and put them into context with the game's larger story. This isn't an important tip for those gamers out there who think stories are irrelevant, but for the rest of us who enjoy a good story in our games, this is worth keeping in mind.

8.) Explore Thoroughly - The various missions of F.E.A.R. 2 will bring you to a number of different locations. While its easiest to run through and do exactly what you're supposed to do to fulfill the missions' objectives, that ruins part of the fun, which is exploration. It adds exponentially to the game's already-dark ambiance.

9.) Be Merciless - The enemies in F.E.A.R. 2 are a weird and varied bunch. Some of them are weaklings, while others are veritable powerhouses. Either way, enemies can deceive you. After emptying a magazine into an enemy, make sure he's dead before moving on. Some foes will fall to their knees or get knocked over only to get back up and rejoin the fight. Subtle enemy movements will let you know if this is happening. Be aware, otherwise, you might have enemies flanking you when you walk over their seemingly-dead corpse.

10.)Take Things Slow-For god's sake, don't rush! What's the point, anyway? Take it all in.

Objectives give you the most experience. If you are boosting, do it at point 2 or 4 in Armored Front. The reason you do it at 2 or 4 is that those points capture faster than 3. Everyone who is there when a point is capped gets the points and the more people the faster it goes.

One team all takes the point all the way to their side and moves away, other team comes in and does the same. Repeat for fifteen minutes. It gets boring but killing each other only lowers the score since caps are longer and anyone not there gets nothing. You can get over a 1,000 points per game.

    1,000 point for Private
    314,000 points for Second Lt.
    1,000,000 for Four Star General.

  • All multiplayer achievements unlocked.

This achievement will simply unlock after getting all multiplayer achievements.

  • Get 20 kills during a ranked match.

This is very easy to do in a death match because you have fifteen minutes against a lot of people. The way I did it was ranked - custom match - edited it to Deathmatch - then chose the match with sixteen players, so way you have a lot of enemies. If you choose to host it I prefer to do the map Revolver, but its your personal choice.

  • Be the highest scoring player for 3 consecutive ranked matches in any game mode.

After playing the game some figure out what your best gametype is then try winning 3 matches in a row. A good way is to play Control with a total of 4 players two on each team then just keep capturing control points and killing the other players. The fewer players that are in the match, the more likely you are to get the MVP.

  • Kill the same player 5 times during any ranked match.

You can do this in any ranked match. If you are going for this legit, play smaller maps like Revolver and with a lower number of people so you are seeing and attacking the same person more often. If you are boosting then this is no problem.

  • Set the C4 charge 3 times in a ranked FailSafe match.

This is in the near impossible category to do legit. Only one team ever plants and the person with the bomb rotates. In a four player match, one person would get it three times to go for it, otherwise you have to pray the bomb carrier dies and you pick it up and plant it. Boosting, just go one person at a time and when someone else has the bomb have your boosters on the other team kill him, or have him eat his own grenade.

  • Disarm a C4 charge 3 times in a ranked FailSafe match.

Easier then arming that’s for sure. Teams are random so you have to be on the defusing side and you need to get three of the five. And the other team has to actually plant. So let them plant, kill them, and disarm. Make sure to look at the bomb and hold  to disarm.

  • Capture a PHLAG 10 times during a ranked match.

Each team goes one round to see how many PHLAGs they can cap. There are two PHLAGS and its just getting them back to your team’s drop off area. Ten is a pretty high number to get in a legit match and if your team goes second you only can get one more then the other team before you auto-win. So, if you are on defense first and you want this, don’t help your team at all so you have more PHLAG room to get your ten. When boosting, we’d get around eighteen per person and that’s with zero interference, so it’s a tough one to do legit.

  • MVP

    30

In a ranked Blitz match that your team wins, be the only player on your team to capture a PHLAG.

Another achievement that's extremely hard to get legitimately. You have to win and only you can cap flags. Best hope legit is to hold the other team to a low number, then when your team goes you only need 1+ the number they had. IE. If you keep them to one, then you would only need to cap two yourself.

  • Capture a control point 10 times during a ranked Control match.

If you are boosting just let the other team cap completely. It has to go to their color, not just neutral. Then re-cap. Repeat. This is also a great way to rank up exp. Everyone who is there gets credit so the more people the faster it will go. If going for it legit, cap it and hide in the area. As soon as the other team moves on, re-cap. Repeat.

  • Defend a control point 10 times during a ranked Control match.

Defend a control point 10 times during a ranked Control match. A Defend is where you kill an opponent who is trying to steal your Control point. The screen will pop a message saying you have defended. Only the person getting the kill, gets the defend.

  • Survive an entire ranked deathmatch match.

If you are doing this legit, you just need to find a small out of the way corner and stay still and hope for the best. The larger the map and the fewer people the better. Host a large map and start as soon as four people are in the room.

  • Kill 3 players while blinded from a shock grenade during any ranked match.

If you are going for this legit then it helps to know that you can Shock yourself and it counts. Have the rocket launcher and wait for a small battle to break out. Shock yourself quick, fire, and hope for the best.

Another way is to make sure you have an incendiary grenade and play Conduit. While in the main hallway, there's usually a big battle. Get flashed and then start lobbing grenades. Do this on Deathmatch with sixteen players, so there will most likely be more than three players in the hallway.

If you are boosting this is easy. Just have three friends line up against a wall and have one throw a Shock grenade at your feet. While you are blinded, fire a rocket at them.

  • Play 8 hours worth of ranked multiplayer.

Simply play eight hours in game - not sitting in the multiplayer menu screen. If you are playing a fifteen minute game and you finish it in four minutes you will only get credit for those four minutes and not the full fifteen. You can check your progress in the achievement menu.

  • Kill yourself 5 times.

Easy to do in first level. I would do this on hard. When you get your first set of grenades just find yourself a nice corner and chuck them on the ground. FYI: Falling to your death later in the level DOES NOT count. You have too much health on easy and can take both grenades without dying.

  • Have more kills than deaths at the end of any ranked match.

The description is a little poor. You need a 2 to 1 kill/death ratio. 2 kills, 1 death. 10 kills, 5 deaths. If you are going for legit an objective based Control is your best bet. Just stay clear of the actual objective areas and sniper people who are trying to cap. Most people stand still while they cap points.

  • Destroy 100 combat ops while piloting a Powered Armor unit during ranked play.

This achievement was reported glitched, but we were all doing the wrong thing. For this achievement you don't have to kill 100 enemies while commanding the powered armor, you have to destroy 100 objects such as windows, explosive barrels, fallout barrels. So just try to get in the mech and start shooting all barrels and other combat opportunities. You can average around 10 per match so just keep playing the game mode and you will get this achievement.

  • Destroy 2 enemy Powered Armor units in the same ranked round with a carried weapon.

This does not mean the weapon you spawn in with. It just means a weapon you can pick up and use. You want to use the Laser or Rocket Launcher. The kill icon will show you killing the person’s mech. The opponent does not die, they just jump out. Do this twice. Try to get on the other teams side and camp one of the tall buildings by the mech spawn. On Skid Row the laser spawns inside the doors at Control Point 3.
