Step 1: Dirt Tour
Proceeding through the Dirt Tour is probably your first objective. Start with season 1, and make your way through to the end of season 4. Make sure to also play the DC Challenges and do the Battersea compound missions, too. The Tour takes about 10 hours, the DC Challenges will probably clock you around 5, and the Battersea will take about an hour or 2. In total, you get the bulk of the achievements in this mode, and 16-18 hours should net you about 820 .

Step 2: Multiplayer
Your main concern is reaching level 35 in multiplayer to unlock the "Superstar" ranking. This is the longest multiplayer achievement and takes some patience and dedication. Other than that, you are asked to win 10 races, do 25 races, play a bunch of party mode and do a few miscellaneous tasks. After everything is said and done, expect to finish about 150-330 races, spending about anywhere from 9-22+ hours to get 165 in the online category of this game.

Step 3: Clean-up
At this point you are probably very close to getting that 1,000 in Dirt 3. You need to do the Time Trials achievement and may have missed some achievements or you may need to finish a few more DC Challenges on Platinum. Just finish up any achievements you may have missed along the way.

Step 4: DLC
There are four packs of DLC. Two are car packs which require you to use all of the cars once and one of the cars in a specific event, and two are track packs that require you to complete all of the tracks contained in them, an Xbox Live Jam Session on a specific track, and complete one miscellaneous task -  for the Monte Carlo Pack it requires driving a certain distance and for the Shibuya Pack it requires that you complete a time trial. None of these are very difficult, and they won't take more than a few hours cumulatively.

  • You have achieved first place finishes in all DiRT Tour Events

This is the long haul single player achievement. You must complete every event in every season as well as all the World Tour events to unlock this achievement. This achievement does not include DC Challenges. When you complete all the events within a competition, the corner should read "250/250" (or whatever amount of points are available) and if you complete the DC Challenge on at least bronze the triangle will turn a golden colour to signify completion. Once you get maximum points in all 4 seasons and 6 world tours, you will unlock this achievement. If also going for completion of all DC Challenges, aim to turn all the pyramids into pure gold.

  • You have achieved first place finishes and passed the DC Challenge in a World Tour event

Once you play the Dirt Tour for long enough, you will unlock a new set of pyramids that are smaller and closer to the screen. These are world tours. Once you have one of them available, all you need to do is place first in all the events and get at least a Bronze medal in the DC Challenge. The one that takes the least amount of time is the Gymkhana World Tour.

  • You have won a race in every location

The locations are as follows. In brackets is earliest possible race.

    • Finland (Season 1 - Alpine Trophystars - Event 1)
    • Michigan (Season 4 - Repsol Masters Championship - Event 1)
    • Kenya (Season 1 - Alpine Trophystars - Event 3)
    • Norway (Season 2 - Osiris Offroad Rush - Event 1)
    • Aspen (Season 1- Brembo Blast - Event 1)

    • Monaco (Season 2 - Osiris Offroad Rush - Event 3)
    • Smelter (Season 1 - Alpine Trophystars - Event 2)

Progressing through Dirt Tour, you should get this near the start of Season 4, after winning a race in Michigan. If you want this right off the bat, or know what location(s) you are missing, you can do single player races from the main menu.

  • You have achieved a podium finish in the Gymkhana Academy

After completing the Gymkhana tutorials at any difficulty, you will unlock the Gymkhana event. The score you need to win depends on the car you choose, but assuming you choose the best one on average difficulty, you will need 165,000 which is easily done. Just place within the top 3 and you will get this achievement.

See Gym-Carnage for a video on how-to get 500,000 points in this level.

  • You have completed 5 bonus Race Objectives

    Refer to The Extra Mile.

  • You have completed 25 bonus Race Objectives

During each race you will be given the opportunity to complete a “bonus objective” for extra rep. They are usually easy, and involve travelling at fast speeds, completing sprints/laps fast, or drifting. Each car for each event has a different objective, and only 1 objective per race. You can view the objective before the race, at the pre-race menu. It is located in the white stripe of text underneath the circuit picture. You can also pause during a race to view to goal. Complete the goal is 25 different races, and you will unlock this achievement.

Note: You can complete 2 bonus objectives for rally events that have 2 stages.

  • You have completed your first DiRT Tour race

This will likely be your first achievement, just select “Dirt Tour” from the main menu and complete the first race offered to you.  Complete it, and unlock this achievement.

  • You completed all of the Gymkhana tutorials

    Refer to Teacher's Pet.

  • You earned a platinum medal in each one of the Gymkhana tutorials

You unlock the Gymkhana Academy after getting 450 total points during the first season. There are a total of 5 tutorials. The number beside the tutorial name is at what point you can find the platinum walkthrough in the video.

    1: Smash (0:07)
This one is tricky. Follow the path in the video underneath, and you should eventually get it. If you are having trouble, try revisiting it once you get more similar with the game.

    2: Air (1:02)
Probably the easiest of all the tutorials. Just line up with the ramp and make sure you have decent speed and take off straight. Spin you car around to head back the other direction and land 4 perfect jumps, to get 45000+ and get that platinum medal.

    3: Drift (1:48)
Very frustrating, but not too bad once you get the hang of it. Again, feel free to come back to this if you are having trouble. The key is to go in a 8-figure instead of an oval. Another key is to score off ALL gates during every corner. Missing a single one will make you get gold instead. Average at least 4,000 a gate, and you should be able to get that platinum medal. If you find yourself having a few bad corners, try rewinding or restarting.

    4: Spin (3:05)
Make sure to approach the zone at an angle, hit your brake, turn into the zone, and then apply handbrake and start spinning. As soon as you reach 3 triangles (10,000 points) start heading for the next zone. As long as you make no mistakes, you should be able to make it before the time runs out.

    5: Donut (4:19)
The final challenge. Start off with the donut in front of you, and then do what feels right. As soon as you see those 3 triangles fill up, head towards the next closest donut opportunity. Don't waste time, just head for whatever is front of you. After a few tries, this one should come.

  • You won a race without the use of any Driver Assists

For this achievement, before the race, set the following options:
    Difficulty: 1
    Damage: Visual

    Assists: (All should be off)
    ABS: OFF
    Racing Line: OFF
    Stability Control: OFF
    Auto Steer: OFF
    Corner Braking: OFF
    Trottle Management: OFF

Automatic transmission is fine, as is the full HUD. Using flashbacks is also fine. Now just run the race, and the achievement should unlock if you win.

  • Driven

    20

You have won DiRT Tour races using vehicles from every discipline

There are 6 total disciplines, and you must do at least 1 race in each one. Here is a list of the disciplines and the earliest stage at which you can unlock/play them:

    • Rally – Season 1 – Alpinestars Trophy – Event 1
    • Rally X – Season 1 – Alpinestars Trophy – Event 2
    • Head2Head – Season 1 – Alpinestars Trophy – Event 4
    • Land Rush – Season 1 – Brembo Blast – Event 2
    • Gymkhana – Season 1 – Gymkhana Academy – Event 6
    • Trail Blazer – Season 2 – Osiris Offroad Rush - Event 2
  • You have completed time trials using cars from each class of Rally

    The classes are as follows:

    • Rally
    • Open
    • S2000
    • 90s
    • Group B
    • 80s
    • 70s
    • 60s
    • PRO
    • RAID (This class is not needed for the achievement)

My suggestion is to select Single Player and then Time Trial from the main menu. Go class by class, on the track "Crocodile Point" in Kenya, as it is the shortest rally track available. Once you register a time trial time with each class, the achievement should unlock.

  • You used a flashback to take you to victory after facing defeat.

Just keep all your settings as you like them, but make sure to change the damage to full. Now either run into a tree at a fast speed or drive off a cliff. The announcer will explain how a flashback can save you (but costs you driver rep), and you will be put into a replay. Hold to rewind, and press to restart your car at the position you selected. Now just complete the race, making sure to win, and the achievement will unlock shortly after the event is over.

  • You have completed a sensational performance in a Gymkhana Championship event

The trick types are as follows:

    • Drift
    • Smash
    • Air
    • Donut
    • Spin

For this achievement you must complete a Gymkhana championship event getting the 3 triangle rating for all 5 of the trick types. The first gymkhana event that counts for this achievement is in season 2, under the X-Games (middle triangle). Just go in order through each trick type making sure to get the full score.

  • You have earned victories in all weather conditions

The weather conditions are as follows, and remember some conditions are only available in some locations. If you are progressing through the Dirt Tour, you should automatically unlock this after a few events.

    • Morning, Sun
    • Evening, Sun
    • Night
    • Rain
    • Wet
    • Snow
  • You have completed 25 Xbox LIVE games

All you need to do is finish in 25 Xbox Live games. When going for other achievements you are likely to get this, so don't sweat it.

  • You competed via Xbox LIVE and earned a 'Cautious' rating

For this to unlock I suggest going into multiplayer and then selecting "Jam Session". Under the filter make sure that "Impact Ratings" are turned on, this is the most important step. When creating a game, this is found in the Advanced Settings. Now either find a game or host a game, and your objective is to race very cleanly. Make sure to not hit anyone, and stay away from damaging your car. If you complete between 2-5 races completely clean, you will unlock this achievement.

Keep in mind this achievement can be boosted with a friend and you can both do a short 1 lap rallycross race while slowly completing the track together to make this easier.

As an extra bonus, after a few races, your "green circle" emblem should change into a "white hexagon", signifying the Honorable Driver status. You will now receive a 20% bonus on fans after every race.

  • You have completed a game of Invasion without any negative points (Pro Tour)

For this achievement all you have to do is pick a corner and sit in it. As long as you don't knock over any buildings, you will be fine. If you want to actually play and earn this, then make sure to watch out for other people smashing you into the buildings, be cautious and drive at a regular pace.

  • You shared the experience of the Battersea Compound with your friends

The description on the website and your Xbox may be different, but for this achievement you need to complete a 20 minute joyride online with at least 3 other people, on the battersea compound. From the main menu, select Multiplayer and then Xbox Live. Now select "Jam Session" and custom match. Change the discipline filter to "Joyride", and search. (You can also create a match instead). Now just find a game with at least 4 total people and play it from start to finish. It can be hard to find people who won't kick you out after you wait for a long time, so you can find partners to boost with here.

  • You completed your first Xbox LIVE Pro Tour Race

From the main menu, select "Multiplayer", then "Xbox Live", and select "Pro Tour". After that you can select any discipline and complete a race to gain the achievement. Try starting on Hardcore Mode or Party Mode for chances at the other achievements.

  • You have won 10 Xbox LIVE games

The best thing to do if you are going specifically for this achievement is to play team based games. You are given a victory if your team wins, and a nice bonus amount of rep, so team based is definitely the way to go. It is much easier to get a team victory against 1 other team than 7 separate racers. Pro Tour and Jam Session both count towards this achievement.

  • You won a game in every party mode

There are 4 game modes in party mode, and you must win at least 1 in each. Each game mode also has it's own separate achievement as well. I recommend playing on a team, as you have a better chance to win. The modes are listed and explained here:

    • Invasion (Smash the robots) - You need to smash the robots (+1) and avoid the buildings (-1), person with the most points wins.
    • Transporter (Capture the Flag) - A flag and flag capture zone will spawn every time there is no flag on the level. The idea is to get the flag and drive it over the the capture spot without losing it. Score the most flags to win. Hit flag carriers to steal the flag.
    • Outbreak (Infection) - One person will start off as infected, and the others will be clean. Infected cars are marked as neon green. You are most likely to win if you start infected, but if you're not either get infected right away and start tagging other people or survive the round. Rarely does the person who survives the longest (but still gets infected) win.
    • Cat and Mouse (TEAM based) - This game mode is only available if you choose team under Pro Tour or Jam Session. The objective is to have your team mouse finish before the other team. As a mouse, race to to finish as fast as you can while avoiding cats. As a cat, make sure the other mouse has a hard time finishing the race. If your mouse finishes first, you win the race, achievement unlocked.

  • You have won an Xbox LIVE race in hardcore mode

In Xbox Live, you must select the Hardcore game mode under Pro Tour. These races are named "hardcore" because there is no HUD, and no assists. Typically the big Dirt fans prosper in this game mode, so you may have a hard time winning. Try finding a game with only a few people (3 or 4), and increase your chances at winning. The track and discipline will be selected automatically, so there is no way to make the races go faster. Just keep at it, and go for that win. Once you come in first, the achievement will unlock.

  • You earned yourself enough fans to be considered a 'Superstar'

This is grinding leveling achievement of the game. You must reach level 35 online, which happens at 250,000 fans.

First, do the Honorable Driver achievement and get that white hexagon next to your name. This will net you 20% extra fans per race from now on, and hopefully make your journey a few hours shorter. If you play games without "Impact Rating" and race cleanly, you will keep this rating.

    Regular Play:
I recommend playing Team Based modes in either Pro Tour or Jam Session. These give you the best chance at winning, and a good reward when you do. The trick is to find events that are only 1 race (round), as doing more than 1 round is just a waste of time for the same amount of rep. An average player will earn about 750 rep per race (event), up to 1250 rep per race. At those paces, you are looking at somewhere between 200-333 races total online for this achievement. At an average 4 minutes per race (with menu + loading), you are looking somewhere between 14 and 22+ hours.

    Boosting:
This achievement can be boosted. You will need 8 people and it will take approximately 6-7 total hours. The first thing to do is make sure everyone has "honorable driver" status to maximize on the fans. It is ok if you don't, but it will make a difference of 1,600+ fans/hour. Next you should make 2 groups of 4 people, and have everyone in the same party chat. Ideally, make the best connections should lead the 2 groups. Both groups should now search for Pro Tour, Gymkhana, and should have no problem finding each other. Once in the same room, you start the match and make sure that nobody scores, but make sure everybody moves their car from the starting position. At the end, everyone is to have 0 points, resulting in a tie.

    Post Game Results:
    1st Place Finish: 1,000 fans
    Repuation Boost: (+20%) 200 fans
    Team Victory: 500 fans
    Total: 1,700 fans

Each game takes 1:30, and loading times and screens in between matches over a minute and a half. At this rate you should get around 27,000 fans per hour, and 8-9+ hours of boosting total should net you the achievement.

  • You have survived a round of Outbreak without being infected (Pro Tour & Jam Session)

Very tricky achievement. First, you must play Outbreak, part of party mode in the pro tour online. Make sure you spawn clean, and then pick the best hiding spot you can. Try to pick one so that all infected must come from behind you, and you have a clear escape route in front of you. If you manage to survive 2:00, you will gain this achievement.

  • You evaded the cats, won the game and earned the fans

You must be selected as the mouse for your team first. You will be the mouse if you are put into a Mini Cooper S, even though you selected something else. The objective is for the mouse of each team to finish before the other, and the cats (remaining players) are out to make the mouse's path to the finish miserable. Avoid getting hit and spun out by the other team's cats, while trying to stay ahead of the other Mini Cooper S. If you manage to finish first as the mouse, you will gain this achievement after the race.

  • You stole the flag from the opposing team 5 times in a game of Transporter (Pro Tour)

In the game mode Transporter (part of party mode from the pro tour selection), you will need to steal 5 flags from opponents. This is done by smashing into them. Once someone grabs a flag, they will be shown to everyone by a marker, and people will begin chasing them. You're best bet is to involve yourself in pile-ups with the flag, that way you pass the flag amongst each other many times before anyone can score. This achievement will unlock during the game.

  • You completed 100% of the Battersea Compound Missions

There are 80 total missions to be done within the Battersea. There are a total of 3 zones that you unlock with completion of the seasons in the Dirt Tour. 8 missions are universal and span across all zones, while the others are zone specific. To start a Battersea session, select the pyramid to the left at the dirt tour menu, and you can select the zones that you have unlocked. To unlock zones, complete seasons in the tour. To view the current mission you have available press and select the missions you want to look at.

  • You gave a flawless performance in a Gymkhana Sprint DC Challenge

On the “Gymkhana Sprint 01” DC Challenge in season 2, all you need to do is complete it without hitting an obstacle along the way. View the video for the best method at taking the course, and a flawless platinum run.

Make sure to take the first jump slowly, so you don't damage your car from the bottom. Also, the achievement unlocks after you end the event, and begin loading the Dirt Tour menu.

  • You have drifted past 25,000 points in a Drift Showcase DC Challenge

Drift Showcase 02 in Season 1 in the Rockstar Transworld Clash is the best place to gain this achievement. Just run the track and aim for the platinum medal. You should be able to get 25,000+ after learning the car a little bit.

Here is a video showing how to do so:

  • You have completed all of the DC Challenges

    Refer to Platinum Performance.

  • You scored 500,000 points in a Gymkhana Event

Your first opportunity at this achievement is the event at the end of the Gymkhana tutorial. Make sure to build up that 3x multiplier, and do as many tricks as you can, trying to not repeat the same thing too many times. Aim for the smashes, air and drifts as they give you the most points for the time.

Here is an example of what you are trying to do:

Note: Later on in the game you will get more chances at this achievement. If you are struggling with the above method, it is possible to get 600,000+ on L.A. Coliseum.

For this achievement you must earn the Platinum medal in the Bobsleigh challenge, which is the DC Challenge in the 3rd season during the Winter X-Games.

    Tips:

    • Make sure to break before you turn, not as you turn.
    • After the first hairpin, try keeping the accelerator down all the way to the bottom of the hill.
    • Only use your E-Brake once, during the tight hairpin mid-way through the track.
    • Try following the racing line in the video below.

Here is a video on how to complete it with a fast time and including tips and tricks:

  • You smashed every robot in a Smash Attack DC Challenge

Your first and easiest chance will be during season 2, smith optics rampage, event 4 (DC Challenge - Smash Attack 01). Run straight through the robots in front of you and then make the hairpin left at the end of the stretch. Follow through the containers, and make another hairpin left making sure to hit all robots, and no buildings. Do a donut around the last obstacle, and then run over the last robot when coming out of the donut. If done correctly, you will hit all 32 robots and no buildings, and receive a platinum medal as well.

DLC: Power and Glory Car Pack

There are 2 achievements with a total of 50 points

  • Drive all of the cars from the Power and Glory Car Pack

The 5 cars you get with this pack are as follows:

    • Lancia Delta S4 - Rally (Group B)
    • BMW M3 Rally - Rally (80's)
    • Scion tC - Gymkhama
    • Chevrolet Camaro SSx - Trailblazer (Modern)
    • Ford Focus ST - Rallycross

From the main menu, create a race, using the "Singleplayer" option from the main menu, and make sure you select one of the above cars. As the race starts, just drive forward a little bit, and retire the race. Do this for all 5 cars, and the achievement will unlock. I recommend using the BMW M3 for Service History, so you can skip it while doing this method.

  • Win a DIRT Tour event in a car from the Power and Glory Car Pack using a custom setup

This achievement is quite easy. After downloading the pack, go into Dirt Tour and select "Season 1 - Rockstar Transworld Clash - Event 2", and the 80s discipline. Now use the BMW M3. Before the race, make sure you go into "vehicle set-up" and slide your gear ratio (or anything you want) one block down. Now back out, and complete the race, and the achievement should unlock. You can now back out after completing your race, and it will count towards New Wheels.

DLC: Monte Carlo Track Pack

There are 3 achievements with a total of 75 points

  • Achieve first place in all DiRT Tour Monte Carlo Events

There are 7 events over the 4 seasons of the Dirt Tour you will need to complete in first place:

    Season 1:
Brembo Blast - Lantosque Historic Run

    Season 2:
    Rampage - La Bollene Legends
Off Road Rush - Alpine Open Cup

    Season 3:
Gold Nixon Series - Castillon Trophy
    International Skirmish - Riveria Open

    Season 4:
Repsol Masters - Le Sevil Legends
Monster All Star Showdown - Battle in Luceram

  • Drive in excess of 100 miles (161 km) in Monte Carlo

This is a cumulative achievement across all game modes. After completing the 7 events in Dirt Tour, you'll be about half-way done with this. Now you can choose to play online or single player time trials for the remainder. The achievement will unlock while you are racing.

  • Win an Xbox LIVE race in Monte Carlo (Jam Session)

You can find boosting partners here.

All you'll need is 1 other person with the Monte Carlo Track Pack. Now you can set up a Private Jam Session rally race online, and take turns winning. The after unlocks after the race ends.

DLC: Mud and Guts Car Pack

There are 2 achievements with a total of 50 points

  • Drive all of the cars from the Mud and Guts Car Pack

The 5 cars you get with this pack are as follows:

    • Lancia Stratos – Rally (70s)
    • Peugeot 205 T16 Evo2 – Rally (Group B)
    • Citroen C4 RallyX – Rallycross
    • Saturn Sky – Gymkhana
    • Ford Mustang GTR – Trailblazer (Modern)

From the main menu, create a race, using the "Singleplayer" option from the main menu, and make sure you select one of the above cars. As the race starts, just drive forward a little bit, and retire the race. Do this for all 5 cars, and the achievement will unlock. I recommend completing a clean rally event with one of the above cars for the other achievement, and you can skip it during the above process.

  • Complete a clean race with a car from the Mud and Guts Car Pack

I recommend creating a rally race from the singleplayer menu (not a time trail!) using the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo2 on "Crocodile Point" in Kenya. Cautiously complete the track without taking any damage and the achievement is yours. Any finish position and difficulty is fine.

DLC: Shibuya Track Pack

There are 3 achievements with a total of 75 points

  • Achieve first place in all DiRT Tour Shibuya Events

There are 4 total events, spanning the 4 seasons in the Dirt Tour that you will need to complete. Achieve a first place finish in all the rallycross events, and you will unlock this achievement. This should take about 45 minutes total.

    Season 1:
Rockstar Tansworld Clash - Tokyo Rallyx Classic

    Season 2:
Pro Invitational - Battle In Tokyo

    Season 3:
NX Shoot Out - Sasazuka Skirmish

    Season 4:
Fidanza Global Legends - King of Higashi

  • Complete a Time Trial in Shibuya

From the main menu, select "Time Trail", then rallycross, Shibuya as the location and "Yamanote Line" as the track. Any vehicle is fine. Complete one lap to register a time, and then select "Retire Race" from the pause menu. The achievement will unlock as the main menu begins loading.

  • Win an Xbox LIVE race in Shibuya (Jam Session)

You can find boosting partners here.

This is easiest to do with a friend in a private game, trading wins. From the multiplayer menu, select Jam Session, and then create a new game. Select Rallycross, and then Shibuya for the location. Any track will do. In advanced options, select 1 lap. Once the game is created, invite your friend into your lobby. Now start the race, and take turns winning. This should only take a few minutes total.

If you do not want to do this with a friend, you will have to find a race in Shibuya using the custom match selection in jam session, under rallycross. If you find a game, join it, and do your best to win a single race. If none are available, you can test your luck at making your own lobby.
