Introduction:
Journey beyond the film and experience an all-new adventure as Lightning McQueen, Cruz Ramirez, Jackson Storm, and other beloved characters! Master racing skills, mid-air tricks and combat techniques to prove you have what it takes to become the ULTIMATE CHAMPION. Similar to Mario Kart and other cartoony racing games.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
There are a few different game modes you need to get through, but there is no order to them. Standard racing, battle race (like Mario Kart), Takedown (basically just destroy enemy cars repeatedly), Stunt racing (aerial tricks), Timed lap battles and Cup series. It matters not, what order you choose... so just pound through the races. You also need to go through 12 challenges in Playground mode.

Multiplayer:
You need to play several levels in multiplayer in order to unlock badges, which in turn will unlock 1 playable character. You don't need to do them or unlock the character, but you cant 100% the game without doing it.

Mop-Up:
You can select any mode and any level you want, at any time. Play through in any order... so there isn't much in the way of a mop up.

Conclusion:
Fairly fun, but it can be a bit repetitive. Multiplayer battlemode is fun with friends, but other than that... there isn't much replay value. There are some hard badge unlocks... which you need for 100% but it's doable with practice and patience. Make sure you are checking the Hall of Fame to see what badges (skill checks) you need to unlock by doing certain actions or completing races.

There are 21 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Perform 6 Air Tricks in a single jump.

This will probably come naturally during your Stunt Showcase levels. If not, choose Radiator Springs Wheel Well Loop and you'll find a massive jump in that level that you can get 6 tricks easily on.

  • Earn bronze, silver, or gold rings in every Thomasville Playground Challenge.

There are 12 challenges in the playground that you need to get medals on. They are pretty straightforward and easy to get at least a bronze on. This one MIGHT be glitched, as I had completed all 12 with at least a bronze and it never popped. I had to replay them all and get medals on them again, before it worked.

  • Complete 100 laps in Best Lap Challenges.

One of the game modes you need to complete. There are 21 levels. You can do them in 1, 3, 5 or 10 lap increments.

  • Drive backward for a total of 15 minutes.

This will come naturally most likely during your playthroughs, as you can drive backwards through various turbo powerups to give yourself turbo boosts. You also need to do 20 minutes for a badge, in order to unlock a playable car.

  • Side Bash 15 Crash Karts in a single Takedown event.

Takedown events require you to blow up enemy cars as you drive. Just keep loading up your turbo boosts to catch them, then dodge left or right to "bash" them. Easiest method is to get right in the middle of a group and then dodge to hit 2 or 3 of them quickly in a row, then do it again when they respawn.

  • Complete at least one event with every character.

This one is tricky, only because there is 1 character (Smokey) you need to unlock that requires 124 badges to be unlocked. You can get about 115 of them easily, but you will need to work hard to get the remainder. There are 22 total cars to play with.

  • Go "In the Zone" 30 times.

When you save up all 4 turbos, you can then double tap the turbo button to go "in the zone." Think mushroom power up in Mario Kart. Makes you fast, invincible and repels enemies. Should come naturally.

  • Complete 70 Air Tricks in a single Stunt Showcase event.

Will come naturally. In Stunt Showcase mode, just keep doing aerial tricks for points. The quickest trick is the barrel roll, which is done by pushing left on the thumbstick.

  • Use 15 turbo boosts in a single event.

Just keep boosting! Will come naturally.

  • Complete 50 Skill Checks.

Impossible to miss as you play through the modes. See "Hall of Famer."

  • Earn a total of 30 Stars in events.

Impossible to miss as you play through the modes. See "Stars All Around."

  • Side Bash 100 cars.

Flicking your joystick left or right causes you bash into the cars and temporarily slow them down. You'll probably get this naturally.

  • Drive on 2 wheels for a total of 15 minutes.

This should come naturally, as you can go onto 2 wheels through certain turbo boost areas to increase your boost meter. You also need 20 minutes to unlock a badge.

  • Use 150 turbo boosts.

Should come naturally, as you need to use Turbo around a dozen times a race, every race.

  • Get 3 perfect Quick Starts.

At the start of each race, just pull the right trigger repeatedly to increase your turbo and start with a boost.

  • Complete all Skill Checks.

This one is the hardest achievement. You need to finish certain events, accomplish certain tasks and it can be a tough grind. If you're stuck on a certain badge, just move on to another and come back to the tough ones later.

There are 9 Categories of Skill Check Challenges. They are:

    1. Driving Mastery (Columns 1-4, and color coded Blue) - Challenges that test your driving skills

  • Collect all 10 hats in the Thomasville Playground.

Here is a video showing the locations:

  • Complete 6 waves in a single Takedown event.

Not very hard, just keep shooting and bashing the enemies.

  • Go "In the Zone" 4 times in a single event.

This means you build up your turbo meter all the way (4 turbos) and then double tap the turbo button to activate it. Do this 4 times in one race.

  • Destroy 1,000 Crash Karts in Takedown events.

You will get this as you play through each level. Can't be missed if going for 100%, unless you are only scoring the least amount possible for some reason.

  • Earn a Star in every event.

84 events total (4 levels, 21 races each). Quite a grind, but easily done. You can get 1-3 stars on each level. Some skill checks (badges) require a Silver or better (2 stars) in certain races or events, so check the Hall of Fame as you play to see what is needed.
