Completed level 1 of all challenges with a single character.

  • How to unlock Challenger

If you open your Journal in-game and scroll to the right you will find a list of challenges that you can complete. Doing so will give you points to your 'Badass Rank' which will allow you to add permanent upgrades to your character.

You can hover over any of the challenges to see what they entail. The majority of challenges have 5 levels, with some having as few as 1, but you will only need to complete the first level of each challenge to unlock this achievement. The challenges that have only 1 level are not required for this achievement.

There are 2 challenges that only unlock after you have completed all 5 levels of a specific challenge. The first is a Shotgun challenge called 'Over Achiever' and you need to have completed all 5 levels of the Shotgun challenge 'Take It All!' to unlock it. This requires that you kill 750 enemies at point blank range with a Shotgun, so try to be conscious of this while using Shotguns.

The other challenge that needs to be unlocked is the Rocket Launcher challenge, 'Missile Magnet' and you will need to complete all 5 levels of the challenge 'Collateral Damage' to unlock it. This requires that you kill 200 enemies via splash damage with a Rocket Launcher so try to be conscious of this when using one.

Although you need to unlock these 2 challenges, you will accumulate towards them before they are unlocked so that when you do unlock them, you may have already done multiple levels.

  • Ugghh.... please, not again.
  • fuck... if they worked like they did in BL1 giving huge juicy chunks of EXP i'd be happy...
  • Just as long as they don't have another Jimmy Jenkins bs requirement..
  • Eh, despite the Jimmy Jenkins bull s#$%, I still had lots of fun completing this last time around. course I also tried to get all the Seriously achievements from gears so maybe I'm just broken.
  • @4: or maybe you're a glutton for punishment?
  • Got most of them in BL2 from just playing, only one that took another year was finding Jimmy "CUNT" Jenkins!
  • Ha ha I just got this thing this morning finally after trying many different times to find jimmy. It only took me 2 years, hopefully the next one won't have this same kind of thing in it.
  • At least the doctor's orders mission glitch made jimmy jenkins even possible
  • As long as there's nothing like Jimmy fucking Jenkins this should be fine.
  • Jimmy is in the wildlife preserve in a box every other tries as long as you never take the recorder for doctor's order quest. Sometimes you even get him twice out of the 4 boxes in the same run.
  • just brings back memeories of our 4 player team chasing Jenkins. we'd find him everyone would start chopping away at his health, me being axton, throwing out my turrets, & accidently killing him. in the end i had killed him 3 times. then we found the sure-fire farming way. "you get a Jenkins, you get a Jenkins, everybody gets a Jenkins"
  • Hi Guys, i started a guide for all vault symbols. PLAYLIST: http://bit.ly/1rRxQBz The rest of the locations will be added in the next days.
  • Undiscovered Launcher and Shotgun what are they?
  • ^ would also like to know.
  • Ne0182 you don't need the vault symbols for this achievement because they are not level challenges you dont need any level specific challenges.
  • At comment#13 if its like BL2 you need to get all 5 in one of the other weapon challenges but I also dont kno and would like to know wat challenge in need to ace to see.
  • To get this first you need to get 750 point blank range kills with a shotty.(easiest way is to go on normal mode and kill Red-belly and a unlimited amount of scavs keep spawning, even after you kill him, he dose eventually spawn back after 20 mins which is pretty weird) and I assume for the launcher you will need to get 750 long range kills to unlock the undiscovered challenge, I have 300 so will post back after I grind those out
  • @Hardcore flesh. Yea I wus using RedBellys arena too for point blank kills but I wasnt sure or finished yet to be sure it was point blank kills. Ill do spash kills with the launcher to check just incase cos im near lv5 with that and ill post if im correct.
  • To discover launcher get all 200 splash kills. I recomend same place as Hardcore Flesh got the shotty one but wait til all 3 lil scavs spawn get them togethrr and blast em to Oblivion.
  • Oh nice, I'm so glad I didn't go do all them long range rocket kills that would have been mind numbing, lol. I actually enjoyed getting this achievement so far and that would have ruined it, more like this gearbox
  • Yea all im missing now is 50 standard grinds and 20 luneshine. BUT IM SO POOR. An d I dont wanna do true valt hunter mode til ive done the other 3 character achievements. Any cheat way to get luneshine
  • I have a undiscovered rocket launcher challenge, sniper rifle, and shotgun. Can anybody help me out on this? Explain what I need to do or at least tell me the challenges in the classes I need to complete to unlock these undiscovered ones.
  • The Rocket Launcher one is for direct hits with rockets. It will unlock when you max out the Collateral damage challenge. 200 kills. The shotgun one is for long distance shotgun kills. It will unlock when you max out the Take it All! challenge. 750 kills.
  • Can anyone confirm #15s comment?
  • For the luneshine, I found the easiest way is to get a buddy to start a new game and help him get to Concordia. The new guy will be level 5 or 6 and if you give that character cash it can buy out white guns and dump in your game for grinding. It will only cost 4-7 moonstone to grind. Can also do thus solo using the locker like I did, but took far longer....

  • Splash kills is correct for the RPG challenge. Brady Games guide says it's not the "point-blank" challenge, but the "kills with critical hits" that you need to open up the other shotgun challenge. Also, get 30 moonstones EVERY TIME just by starting a new game and then going back to your chosen character. Easy.
  • Is there a guide for this? I'm just wondering so i can save it to my photos and check off the challenges as i go.
  • For those looking for a good place to do shotgun 'take it all' and rocket launcher challenges 'collateral damage', go to Serenity Waste on normal mode. The Kraggon will run at you and they are lvl 3 so easy picking. Cleaning up all of serenity will net you 40 to 45 hit for either challenge in 4 min or less. These are the 2 challenges that will open the undiscovered one. You will also find lots of cheap gun to help you complete the grinder challenge. Many other challenges can be done here with ease.
  • Anyone know how to unlock the following "undiscovered" challenges: * sniper rifel * enemies
  • Yes! Finally got this one, pain in the arse challenge was shotgun - Take it All!
  • Anyone know a fast way to get waepons and grind them without spending thousands of dollars in vending machines?
  • Is this glitched for anyone else? All my challenges are at level 2 or higher and it didn't unlock for me. I completed everything including the undiscovered ones and I still didn't get anything.
  • To collect weapons and moonstone to grind I suggest you follow the guide for the 'loot 10 moonstone chests' achievo. In the 'Titan Robot Production Plant' after your encounter with Felicity you will find a lot of weapon chests (and a moonstone chest), and she will drop a lot of moonstones. Loot the chests and fast travel to Concordia to grind all the stuff. That way you can go for alle the grind challenges and the moonstone chest achievo.
  • @30: here, this should hep you out: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=391145
  • I need help on this one. I cant find a area-of-effect grenade and kill 25 enemies with it. My gt is ladiesman22290
  • For the 20 luneshine weapons challenge i signed in with a second profile on a second controller. started a new muli character and joined my main chars game. good thing is the muli is lvl 1 but the two white weapons in the inventory have no lvl at all, thats why moonstone-grinding these weapons will cost you zero moonstones. I duped these two weapons till the second chars inventory was full, saved the game, dropped all his white weapons and signed out. And endless stockpile of white weapons (and money if you like)! For luneshine weapons you must grind with moonstones but the cost for the moonstones depends on the weapons level. It took me maybe 100 grinds to get the 20 but i didnt have to worry about my precious moonstones^^
  • A good way to work on a couple of the difficult challenges at one time: -Get a character at lvl 30 or above. I used my lvl 40 enforcer. -Go to Serenity's waste on NORMAL difficulty -All weapons from drops/looting in this area are at level 2 or 3, and only cost 2 moonstones to grind -Iwojira provides up to 30 moonstones each time you defeat him -Kragons roll right up to you, so kill them with the shotgun to complete the "Take it All" challenge -Simply run through the area and kill all Kragons (with your shotty) and pick up all weapons, then drop into Iwojira's area, kill him and collect moonstones. Go back to Concordia, do your grinds, save and quit, rinse and repeat. *NOTE: the weapons dropped by Iwojira are at lvl 28, and cost significantly more moonstones to grind. Sell thes
  • This Achievement is a pain in the butt.
  • You can just farm Iragiwa for green weapons and moonstones and get this in pretty short order. I was doing that for about 2 hours last night and I got 10 lunshine weapons. Seems like Odyjurymir drops quite a bit more moonstone too so now is a good time to do it while he's still in the game.
  • @37. Thanks hir0. Made short work of the luneshine grinder challenge per your instruction. Plus I have a stash of cool luneshine weapons to start new games with.
  • there's a 3rd hidden challenge, under "Pistol" I don't really use a pistol much in this borderlands so i haven't unlocked it yet. have almost every other challenge though making this one annoying for me.
  • LOL got it less then 5min after posting, it was Magnum Maestro, it unlocked with lvl 2 Pistoleer (showing just how little i use Pistols in this game)
